Mediocre, at best. There is a problem when the Chinese food you get is better from the mall. The place is stuck back in the 70s-80s and needs a major improvement. And overall, the one time we were there, we were overcharged and the guy who helped us, who spilled half of the soup because of his shakiness, couldn't properly communicate to fix the bill.

The incredible selection of gluten free options is like no other Chinese restaurant I've been to. And that's just scratching the surface of this incredible place. Best Chinese food -- the Peking Beef has flavors that keep you just going back for more (not to mention the tender beef with a crispy exterior). The staff here is kind, friendly, and provides excellent service. We travel just to come here.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free

This is a family owned local business that does an amazing job catering to their customers. The food is delicious (especially the hot and sour soup - best I’ve had) and they seem to be super accommodating to allergies.Jane the owner is welcoming with a razor sharp memory for people. Ask for something and if they can do it they will.

The is the MOST HORRIBLE experience that we had with a restaurant here in Massachusetts after living here for more than 10 years. In short, don't go if you don't want to get ripped off and unfairly treated. This lady (maybe the owner herself) offered no service during the entire meal. There are the breakdown:- No menu. We need to look on some website that doesn't even scroll to the 2nd page to see the dishes.- We had to write down the dishes ourselves on a sheet of paper since she said taking orders is not an option.- No one came by during the entire meal to provide any services. When we got the receipt, an automatic tip was added to our bill. We were told that there is a small sign in the front that says 18% "forced" tip will be added to our group of 3 people. We were shocked. Even worse, I went ahead and calculated it, they added actually about 20% tips.I talked to that lady and she started yelling at me. With no service, or most likely, a negative service, she overcharged us close to 20%.Another point is that even though she is Asian, she is against her own race. We went in there first, 15 mins before the next group, she served the next group first who has no Asian in the group. In short, please don't go.

No service(you have to find the menu yourself, write the order yourself, pack the leftovers yourself into horribly small boxes) but fixed 18% tips. Long wait for the food and no water even asked twice..The food is OK, or not fresh or use low quality meat.In ten years, I have been this place for 4 times and each time it makes me very unhappy and so was this time.

Extremely small portion, i.e. almost $20 for gf orange beef, yet the plate size is for dim sum/appetizer. Paid $200 for 4 people and I was not even full.Every dish is small and oily.Nothing is authentic Shanghainese and don’t even taste that good, their pastries are extremely dry yet greasy at the same time.18% mandatory tip is not the problem, the problem is service is almost non existent and the woman is alway rude. There were only 3 people working a full house for reception, serving, busing, and everything on a busy Sat. Our table didn’t get a single time of water refill. Orders are written by customers, it’s so hard to even get their attention to the table. Why do you want 18% tip if customers already doing your job.

As someone with Celiac Disease, I was so excited to try Chinese food again (it's been over 4 years), but I could not be more disappointed. I ordered a veggie noodle dish, broccoli with garlic sauce, and tangy & spicy green beans. The broccoli was ok, but the green beans weren't spicy, and the noodle dish had no flavor and barely any veggies. Maybe they were having an off night, or maybe the vegetarian dishes just aren't stellar, but I'm not going to return to find out. Sounds harsh, but I would rather have no Chinese food than this food.

I arrived early for my take out order and was pleasantly met by who I thought might be the owner. The order was ready, the items and cost were correct and I left a tip because I was so nicely greeted and taken care of. The restaurant looked neat and tidy, so I am looking forward to a trip back for a family meal. When I got home, I told my husband that I thought it was the best Chinese food I ever had! Everything was fresh and portions were large! I will tell my friends with GF needs that they have to visit!Dietary restrictions: Celiac disease is part of my child's life now, and all our GF needs were met. Above and beyond

This place is definitely worth the trip especially if you have a gluten allergy! They had so many different gluten free options it was hard to choose! I got the orange chicken and my girlfriend got the egg foo young and it was amazing! Not to mention you can't go wrong with a $7 cocktail!!

Wow, my new favorite Chinese restaurant. Finding a Gluten-Free Chinese restaurant is hard enough, but finding one that does GF and has great tasting food is nearly impossible. The General Gao's chicken was delicious, rich, battered and spicy. The Pork Fried Rice was not greasy at all like you normally get at many restaurants. The ribs and Chow Fun were both very tasty. Portion sizes were larger than average and the prices were very reasonable. I'm a pretty big guy but I wound up having to box up half the food I ordered. On top of the good food was the very friendly and conversational staff which were engaged, helpful and very knowledgeable about the food. The ambience is simple and casual and does feel a little dated, but all I care about is great food and service and this place delivered. One of the owners mentioned they've been there for 39 years and I'm not surprised- they've got a winning formula.

Uncle Cheung's has earned its longevity with delicious food, friendly service and a comfortable, attractive dining room. The menu is more interesting than most area Chinese restaurants, and would please vegetarians, gluten free diners as well as anyone who appreciates fresh food prepared well. Children would be very happy here, too. Prices are moderate and the portions, generous. There is handicap accessible parking. The restaurant is on a rise, but there's a lift in the entryway up to the dining room. The restaurant has a full bar.

The food was delicious and close to authentic food. However, watch out for the mandatory 18% tip on the bill. Our party only had two people, not a large group. no one informed us of the automatic tip and it is not written on the menu. I'm not sure if this practice is legal. They let you scan the menu and write down the dishes, the server only brings out the dish and take away empty plates. The server didn't even offer to refill the water for us. I was surprised with the automatic service change of 18%, the service only worths 15%.

Just want to leave a note about Uncle Cheung’s restaurant in Framingham. We had the most amazing experience there this past Sunday. Most of their menu is gluten free and my celiac son tried Chinese food for the first time in his life. The food is excellent and he felt fantastic after. I’m not a huge Chinese food fan because it always feels too greasy, but this was truly a fantastic meal for everyone. Everything was fresh and delicious. The best part is the staff. It’s a family owned restaurant and the owner went around every table and spent extra time with us to tell us about their safety practices for celiacs and those with different allergies. They recommended various menu options for us and everything was yummy. Highly recommend to try this place!

My wife and me took my 2-year old son there for lunch, their Shanghai food is actually very tasty, but they really need to improve their service.1) We have waited for 55 minutes for Xiaolong bao. While I asked the waitress what is going on, if it is not ready, we don't want it anymore. She brought it out in one minutes, and she told us they have rule that the food should be served in about 20 minutes, we must have not waited for that long.2) During the lunch, we have to help ourselves to get more water, find out cups, even taken more napkins. The waitress never showed up, I am not sure if she is also the chef of the restaurant.3) We are forced to pay 18% tips for the food. We actually paid more than 18% most of the time in restaurant, but the way they take tips really makes us uncomfortable. Is this even legal?Anyway, will not come back again for the bad service.

Safe place for celiac people. I take my granddaughter there. Nice to have choices for safe Chinese food.
