While visiting Franklin for a few weeks, I happened upon Birchwood Bakery and so enjoyed my spinach quiche that I came back two days later for a second taste- and to try a maple spice scone- YUM! My intent was to bring back half to share with my husband but couldn't quite make that happen. (He did get some...). Food is great, atmosphere is great, the service and set up needs a lot of work. Based off 2 visits now I find that it’s nearly impossible when you walk in to know A) where to go to order and B) where to pick up food. You stand in line at the pastry case and there are 3 people standing behind the case who can’t help you order breakfast items such as sandwiches or eggs, etc. You have to wait until get to the register to order those items so essentially you have 3 people standing...read full review

Home for the holidays and was eager to try this place (I always liked the former tenants in this spot, Cake Bar and Cafe Dolce). This is a rather Euro-style cafe, with sandwiches prepared and displayed to be heated or taken home.I loved the Mediterranean chicken sandwich and dirty chai! I sat right at the bar.
