Stopped in to Cake Ann for my first time. Almost closing time, so just picked up. But a quick glance, a very cozy, nice atmosphere. I picked up an order, surprise order, too good to go, app. Pleasantly surprised with amount of food. Everything was awesome. I will definitely visit more frequently and would highly recommend!!!

I can't recommend this place enough. We headed to Gloucester on the way to the North end because of it's history. Stopped in and got a tremendous pastry and empanada. People couldn't have been kinder to help us find some local sights to see. 10/10!

Delectable Delightful Delicious! Everytime we are in Boston we make the Trek for the savory veggie galettes and the mouth watering melt in your mouth kouign (pronounced like Queen) amann (rolls?) So indescribably delicious they deserve a category of their own! Buttery flaky with right hint of sweet they look like a flower in bloom with layers of airy lightness. My husband, daughter and I are calling in our order in advance for this Friday so wecan share with family. But that order will be separate from the one we will enjoy on the porch by the water for breakfast ! ?

The cakes may be great but the blueberry tarts I bought yesterday were far from it. I lightly baked them because the crust seemed soft but it didn't help much. The blueberry filling was a very thin layer of jam. For $3.75 one would expect better.

Cake Ann made our wedding cake & dessert table pastries, and we could NOT be happier with how it all turned out! Inga & Amanda were extremely kind, professional, and have a true talent. Our cake turned out beautiful and exactly as we’d imagined. Our dessert table pastries were fantastic and we ended up bringing home the leftovers to enjoy the next day! I would highly recommend Cake Ann for any of your baking and pastry needs for any special occasion :) Thank you guys for being such a special part of our big day!

I ordered a birthday cake for 14 people and what I got was one of the most delicious cakes I have ever purchased. We have some chefs in the family and I don't think anybody could've made a cake any better. After 10 people had their fill there was still half a cake left. The price was more than reasonable. I would definitely recommend cake ann, not only for special occasions but also just to bring a cake home for the family. We are fortunate to have them in Gloucester.

I used Cake Ann for my wedding (June 3, 2023) and while the wedding cake tasted great I was literally in disbelief with what they delivered... The pictures of the blank cake with the cake topper is what was delivered and the other picture is what I asked for. Super disappointed and I didn't see it until they brought it out for us to cut. Still had a great night but it just was nothing like what I asked for and honestly looked incomplete even if it was just a plain cake, there were spots where you could see the cake underneath the icing.Overall, wouldn't use them again. We paid over $700 for this cake to be totally blank and incomplete. Thank god it was the correct flavors, which is the only reason I gave them one star.AND just another note - The cake tasting was something I had been looking forward to for basically my entire life and it was incredibly unorganized and disappointing. We just got pieces of left over cake from other parties and they didn't really put in any effort to making them look presentable. Should have known after that experience!!

Long story short, I'm sick at home, and he goes there the other day for his coffee and asks the owner if she knows anywhere to get good chicken soup. And, the owner pulls out a JAR of HOMEMADE CHICKEN SOUP, which she had brought for lunch, and hands it to him. Because that's the kind of human she is, apparently. I was super sick, it was super amazing, and I plan on going to Cake Ann a LOT more now :)

We chose Cake Ann for our wedding cake and it was the best decision we could have made! The cake was absolutely beautiful and tasted amazing, we were able to do a cake tasting to choose what flavors we wanted and we decided to go with the chocolate peanut butter and the chocolate caramel and both were amazing! We would highly recommend using them for any event but especially for your wedding you will not be disappointed! Our guests had nothing but great things to say about the cake, and that's all we ever could have wanted for them! Thank you to everyone at cake Ann who baked us the perfect cake for our wedding!

Cake Ann is in a new location in downtown Gloucester but they are still making the best pastries etc in the area. In addition to all of the sweets, we really love their various quiches and their fabulous meat pies filled with locally made sausages. We were not meat pie lovers before but these are awesome!

Ordered 100 cupcakes and 100 whoopie pies for a June 2023 party. I asked for something that would match the black and gold theme of the party. The cupcakes were fine - vanilla cake with chocolate frosting on par in size/quality with something you could get at a supermarket bakery.The whoopie pies were so, so dry. Someone at the party actually said, “these taste like they were made two days ago.” We ended up throwing out most of the whoopie pies because we had tons left over and no one wanted to take them home.Back to the desserts matching the theme: I was told in advance that a glitter pump would be used to “incorporate gold all around the whoopie pies” and I’m not sure what I expected - but not this. Just white sprinkles and some gold balls you couldn’t see.I was disappointed with the results. I would probably choose a different bakery next time.

We got both of my kids birthday cakes from Cake Ann this year! My son got a dinosaur marble cake for his first birthday (their marble is alternating layers of vanilla and chocolate, forgot to take a picture of it!) and everyone at his party was commenting on how delicious it was. For our daughters 4th birthday she wanted a unicorn cake, we ended up getting a small cake and a dozen cupcakes instead of one big cake and it worked so well! My daughter requested strawberry cake and I don't know what I was expecting but cake ann knocked it out of the park it was SO GOOD. Once again everyone at the party was asking where we went and commenting on how good it was! We'll definitely be using cake ann again going forward!
