Visited for the first time last night and I can't believe we waited so long. This place is delicious! It's a cute place with a large bar and seating at well spaced tables, plenty of elbow room. Service was great. Server (owner or manager maybe?) was very warm and friendly. I got the Machaca (beef brisket) rolled up in a chimichanga while my partner had a variety of tacos. It was all amazing! Even the sauce on the chimi had me cleaning my plate! Another owner(?), cook(?) also stopped by to check on us and explained the family background about some menu items. We were delighted. The margarita was also tasty. We will definitely be back for another taco Tuesday (or Margaritas Monday, etc.). I think this is our new favorite in the area. Can't wait to try more food!

Definately not your typical Mexican restaurant. The salsa was chunky and tasty. If the salsa isn’t good it’s a good indication the food isn’t. It was chunky and delicious. It was difficult to chose from the dinner choices they all sounded deliciously different. I got the dinner special Chili Enogadas - full of flavor - you will not be disappointed!! Drinks were great too!!

Got the stuffed chili, which was amazing. The cheese dip is kind of thick, and more like corn chowder, but good none-the-less. The waiter was nice and spooky vibes, very nice place.

I've probably eaten at Machaca 20 times and every time I wonder why I don't eat there more often. Last night I had their Salmon Chimichurri for takeout and it's some of the best salmon I've ever had. Perfectly seasoned and cooked, and the rice and beans, as always, were superb. Their apps, especially the queso and fried avocado are off the chain, and their chips and hot sauce make this transplant from Texas very happy indeed. Just go. You won't be disappointed.

So glad we saw this place and decided to stop in Saturday afternoon. What a great family run place with great drinks, friendly service and the place is really clean. Four of us spent the weekend in Gloucester since we hadn’t been in a while. Joe, is one of the family owners. Super nice guy. They work really hard. We couldn’t believe they have .50 wings every day as well as other apps 1/2 price. I think it’s like 2-4:00 or something. Wings were awesome. 6 jumbos wings for $3 these days? Anyway, we can’t say enough about this cozy family-run place with AUTHENTIC Mexican food and drinks. We’ll definitely be back. Do yourself a favor, when in Gloucester, visit this place!

Hate to have to give it only 3 stars but Google requires a rating before posting.Be advised: They are closed for renovations. Their website is not updated and there is no message on their their phone (mailbox is full). finally just drove over there only to find they are closed. disappointing.

I can't believe it took a trip to Gloucester, MA to find the best Mexican food I have found on the entire east coast!!! Handmade corn tortillas, tender flavor filled carnitas, delicious black beans and rice... salsa?? Shut the front door! Yummmy yum salsa and chips. Delicious ceviche! Great ambiance, perfect sized menu and we had the best server ever. Ask for Joe. Great personality, and knows this food. I know next time we are anywhere near it....we will be back!! Yeeehaw!

A really pleasant dining experience. The food, service, and ambiance were all great. The only thing that wasn't excellent was the drinks, which were middle of the road.
