Four Phantoms Brewing Company Brewery •
301 Wells St, Greenfield

“By far my favorite bar in the entire world. The beer is excellent - let's just get that out of the way. The food is excellent, especially the popups (don't miss the Patch Burgers!). The fun is excellent: scary movies, boardgames, trivia, D&D. But the people! Both the staff and the patrons are friendly, fun and cool, and make this place special. You won't be a stranger here for very long.“

“Simply excellent. We were seated promptly even on a busy Saturday night however they had some games to enjoy during our short wait. Home brewed beer was delicious. I had the gold and my husband had the stout. Both excellent. My daughter enjoyed the lemon lime homemade soda. Tons of great food choices even for kids and all meals were enjoyed. Highly recommend.“

“Stopped in for a beer or two to kill some time while Christmas shopping downtown. The crew is very friendly, and the beer is GREAT. Not usually a big fan of pumpkin beer, but their Your F'n Pumpkin Beer is so good. Czech style pilsner was super crisp, and possibly one of the best I've had. This will definitely be a destination for any future trips!“

Berkshire Brewing Company Brewery • $$
12 Railroad St, South Deerfield - 7.56 miles

“Great little craft beer spot! We took a detour and stopped here on a whim on our way home after a disappointing experience at a larger brewery nearby - so glad we did. The atmosphere is small and friendly with a neighborly vibe, very family friendly and saw several dogs there as well. There were board games to play, chalk to draw with, and great live music all of which kept the kids entertained. The beertender in the tap room was so nice, she took time to make conversation and ask and get a feel for what types of beers you like and which ones you don't to make the best suggestions for someone visiting the brewery for the first time. I don't like IPAs, and in the New England beer scene that can sometimes leave me with few options, especially at smaller craft breweries here. Berkshire had a great depth of varieties on tap that I was happy to sample in a few flights and we left with several packages from the cooler to take home. We'll definitely be back if we're in the area again!“

Brick and Feather Brewery Brewery • $$

“A little out of the way, but worth the trip. Every beer we tasted was pretty good. The space was a little stark, but worked well for the number of customers that were there when we visited. Be sure to check out the names of the potted plants scattered around.“

The Back Room Brewing Company Brewery •
1046 Millers Falls Rd, Northfield - 9.31 miles

“Where do I begin this review about such a great place? Let’s start with the gracious and welcoming owners, Leslie and Paul Cameron. On our visit there, we were greeted at the door by Paul as he welcomed us to his establishment. Our group immediately felt at home and knew this was going to be a good choice to indulge in some fine libation. Inside the taproom area you will feel the coziness of the New England style décor and design from the live edge maple bar and table tops to the post and beam construction. The tap list was a nice mix of stouts, porters, red ales and IPA’s which were served nice and cold, just the way I like my beers. We enjoyed all of our choices and would not hesitate to order again in the future. Live music was provided by a husband and wife duo singing popular songs that everyone could sing along too. They strongly encouraged we sing along and we may have surprised them with some of the songs that we could sing with them word for word. For those of you who may not be beer drinkers, fear not. Paul and Leslie also make delicious award winning wine in the refurbished 200+ year old barn next to the taproom. Leslie gave us a tour of the wine barn and I must say, what an impressive job they did with it. Inside the barn, you will quickly appreciate all the hard work that went into this place. Upon entry at the ground level, you will find a wide variety of bottled wines, cheeses and chocolates to purchase. The second floor follows around the inside perimeter of the barn with many tables, chairs and other cozy places to sit. A beautiful hand crafted bar can be found where all the wine tastings take place. The third floor is in the middle of the barn and follows the center line of the roof peak. It is an open floor design and both side of the second floor can be viewed from the third. All three floors are tastefully decorated keeping with the traditional New England style and further enhances the warmth and coziness of all the hard work Leslie and Paul have devoted to their business. On warmer days, there is ample outdoor seating with multiple fire pit locations to enjoy your drink and snacks in the fresh outdoor air. It was a bit chilly on the day of our visit, but we cannot wait to make a return trip on a warmer day for more enjoyment of the good company and drinks found at the Back Room Brewery. We will certainly be spreading the good word to many of our other friends to join us on the next trip. See you then and cheers!!!“

The Brewery at Four Star Farms Brewery • $$
508 Pine Meadow Rd, Northfield - 6.68 miles

“Our family has visited twice now for our holiday get together, and I can't exaggerate how accommodating they've been. There are 20 of us altogether, including kids aged 2 to 14. Not only is this a beautiful venue with plenty of space, but they've always extended themselves to make us feel welcome. They've provided blankets so we can enjoy the fire on the patio, taken our family's picture, extended tables for serving food, and the beer and service are phenomenal. Thank you so much for your kindness, for giving us this beautiful space to celebrate with our loved ones, and for being such wonderful hosts. We will be back!“

Hitchcock Brewing Company Brewery • $$
203 South St, Bernardston - 5.27 miles

“Nice location and layout, with plenty of space for people and entertainment. Lightweight metal stools are interesting and sturdy, but not the most comfortable for more than a half hour or so. The beer is really good and they offer an equally good selection. There is no food to speak of unless a food truck is set up in the parking lot. Overall, it is a good gathering place to meet friends and hear some music, but I feel offering some basic munchies like popcorn, chips, etc., would go a long way to up their game. There is parking available, but it can become scarce during popular events. If you found this review helpful, please let me know by tapping the thumbs up. Thanks!“

“Pioneer Valley Brewery is a small brewery that looks suspect at first glance but is filled with a vibrant group of community centric people. The bartender was great, very helpful, and a hoot. And the beers... they were grade A. Overall a great place even with the smaller crowd!“

Tree House Brewing Company - Deerfield Brewery • $$
1 Community Pl, South Deerfield - 6.84 miles

“Great beer, great pizza. Will definitely come againI would have liked a little more detail in the menus, there were almost 10 “imperial IPA” on the menu with no distinction/description. They are described in detail on the website. The pepperoni was a little spicier than expected which I liked, but my son (2) did not.It seemed like a family friendly place, but despite all there space, there was nothing specifically built for kids. A swing set, sand box, or other structure would be awesome. The building is really cool. The water feature around the staircase has info about each scene. I’d love to hear about the building itself as it doesn’t seem purpose built for a brewery.“

Powder Hollow Brewery Brewery • $$
25 Greenfield Rd, South Deerfield - 7.84 miles

“Nice bar/brewery tucked in behind Yankee Candle. Regan provided great service and insight into the beers! They have a wide variety of beers (IPAs, sours, stouts, ales, etc.) so every beer drinker should be able to find something that suites them, but they also have wine if that’s more your thing. Overall a great stop.“
