Extraordinarily loud at only 5pm. It's not a sports bar, so noise has to be tamed coming from the townies at the bar. As we ate, the table next to us had visitors who must have not seen the people sitting for years, yelling and obnoxiously laughing for half an hour. At one point one of the standing women yelled clear across the restaurant for someone named Ben. I blame the restaurant for this because they could have asked the visitors to sit down, because not only were they as loud as hell, they were in the way of the servers. The food was good and service was attentive, but the noise ruined the experience.

WOW!!We ABSOLUTELY had an amazing time hosting the Rehearsal Dinner for my sons wedding at Scarlet Oak Tavern last Friday night!!The team. . .was just. . .AMAZING!!!w/a special shout-out the team who helped make it special: Cam / Dennis / Eileen / Julia HThe food was SPECTACULAR; the service was 1ST CLASS. . and everyone truly enjoyed themselves!!

I love the feel of Scarlet Oak. The vibe is friendly and warm and it's very cool inside - love the history. The specialty drinks are always good, and they have THE BEST tuna tartare on the south shore for SURE.

Such a hidden Jem.. like walking back in time "but in a beautiful way"my daughter and I went midweek around noon. Fairly crowded for that time of day. Steak smelled amazing but I still opted for the salmon. It was ok, but just not my style"poached" definitely going back for the steak ?

Enjoyed the general atmosphere, the friendly waitstaff, and the New England touch. They were all lovely, but the star of the day was the food. The chowder was not to be surpassed and our meals melted in our mouths! We will be back.

Had 7:45 reservations for Valentine's day. It was very busy and definitely overbooked, we were seated around 8:15 but the food and service were worth the wait in my opinion. We ordered the calamari, steak frites, and statler chicken breast and they were all phenomenal. My only complaint is since we were seated so late and the restaurant closes at 9, we took our dessert to go. Will definitely be back!

Disappointing meal. Service not bad. Ambiance good. Pricing was high. Meal was not hot and fish was so small and unimpressive. Won't hurry back. Wonder what folks do have with better result. Had eated their twice before and not so bad those times, actually good.

Went for a birthday celebration with the family and everyone enjoyed their meals. Our server was spot on and our separate room for 10 was so nice and so cozy! We could not have asked for anything more. Thank you to all those who contributed to making this a very special birthday celebration!

We were in a large party of nine, and Kathy was able to accommodate us beautifully in the back room at a long table in which we were able to all sit together. Food,service, and atmosphere were all fantastic. We all plan on coming to Scarlet Oak Tavern again in the near future! Highly recommended! Thank you!!
