I love the taco bar, the staff are always friendly and the food is SO GOOD! The steak or ground sirloin quesadilla is a must have, and the margs are always amazing. Fresh ingredients, friendly customer service, and an overall happy lowkey vibe in the underground!! Recommend for anyone who needs their taco fix!

One of my favorite places to relax and have the best margaritas and fresh tacos. We go there at least once a week.

**Abysmal Experience - Truly Zero Star Rating**Ozzy (Owner) and Bella (Manager) have to be the poorest representation of business leadership on the south shore. My dining experience has always been lackluster since this establishment opened, however, based on a recent discussion about a job opportunity with both Ozzy and Bella it was clear to see why they have received such consistent negative reviews.Severely overpriced food & drinks, poor customer service, and extended wait times are certainly enough to keep people away, but adding extremely unprofessional, rude, and arrogant behavior will be this establishment's demise. The Hull community deserves local establishments that cater to customer needs, and provide quality food, drink, and services at reasonable prices. California Underground consistently fails to meet minimum expectations on all counts.Save your money on this place and try out the more favorable competition in Hull that consistently delivers quality food and service at reasonable prices.

This was a nice bar right across the street from the beach. It had a cool Mexican/surf vibe to it. The place was small but it didn’t fee cramped with the number of tables. Only had a couple of drinks there but it was good. Would go back to try the food.

Good drinks. Need to work on chips and salsa. Tasted like salsa from a jar and the chips were Fritos level salt content.

It’s very comfortable in there. It’s fairly quiet. The food isn’t bad and it’s very tasty. The drinks are good and they do have some interesting drinks there. It’s right across from the beach and right beside the laundromat. They don’t have any hot drinks there but the Dunkin’ is across the street. If you are new to tacos there is an option to remove and or add items from or to the tacos, burritos, salad, etc. Most of the food is not very spicy but you can add Cheyenne, jalapeños or habaneros. So you can make it spicy by asking for that option.Vegetarian options: Tofu, black bean, meatless.Dietary restrictions: They have options for gluten-free. They have good tofu here and the black beans are nice.Parking: The parking is in front across the street and also behind the building in the spots that say the corner cafe.Kid-friendliness: Yes. There is a kids menu and it is kid friendly. I recommend the cheese quesadilla.Wheelchair accessibility: I don’t see that it would be difficult to go in and out of there. It’s on the ground level and it’s all one floor. The bathroom is a decent size.

EDIT: bizarre political programming on the vast televisions drove many away in the second year. Food has changed but it's still a strange regional variation on tacos. Service has flipped many times. Losing stars.A strong showing in its first week, this neighborhood bar features a build-your-own taco menu and fresh guacamole a well as a fully stocked bar with a refreshingly festive drink menu. The clientele was an interesting mix of people trying out a new place and seeking to support a local business. It clearly already has a strong following and if the kinks are worked out before summer (running out of chicken, narrow beer selection, and the paper plates are fairly tacky, though it's not totally insensible), California Underground stands to do very well. This review will be updated.

Nice place. We got take out. Local owners. The food is decent. I personally think that they are out of touch with their prices. It's expensive to eat there for the small portions they give. We live local and won't be back.

When I went into this local place by Nantasket beach. I thought I was going to get fresh shrimp tacos completely failed my expectations! The shrimp they use is the "already cook shrimp" very tasteless. Let me add I waited over 40mins for 2 tacos ! Also chips and corn salsa was a 3 outta 10. Taste like they submerged the corn in red wine vinegar! I also had to ask the bartender if there was a wait on chips and salsa!? because I waited 25 mins for chips and salsa I should've know then ! I ended up getting sick . Over priced, long waits and yucky food. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME.

I’m not sure why this place has such a high rating because it seems entirely undeserved. We ordered chips and guacamole, 4 tacos, and 2 drinks and our bill with tip was > $80 at the end of the night. The guacamole tasted like it was bought from Cisco and squeezed from a bag and it was a minuscule amount for the $7 they asked. The drinks were either super artificial tasting or tasted like straight tequila and neither were particularly enjoyable. The tacos took longer than 45 minutes to get to us and they were cold when we got them. I’m not sure if they only have one person in the kitchen or what, but it took entirely too long for us to get something with such basic ingredients. This place also likes to sneakily charge you for things and not disclose it. We asked for the spicy tequila and they charged us $1 extra for it and didn’t let us know (even though we just asked for watermelon/strawberry instead of mango). They also charged us $1 for each “sauce” over the one you’re allowed to get and nowhere was this disclosed either. All in all, a terrible experience. We’re glad we weren’t in a rush but we will not be returning here. For $80 we could have eaten at a far better establishment.

This place has way too high a rating.A scoop of guac was $7. They took 45 minutes to bring out a couple cold tacos. Their margaritas had no character. Prices were already high and they still nickel-and-dimed me with up-charges without warning me.Couldn’t believe how much it cost to have such an unsatisfying experience. I won’t be back
