My partner and I went here for the first time and I gotta say. For $150 just for 2 people and everything on the picture is what’ we ate. Definitely not worth it. The music was super loud so I’d say it’s more of a club than a restaurant so if u want to eat in peace go on a weekday. Food tasted ok but the portions wow super crazy how this small piece of meat was $35 each with only a few counted pieces of fries. A single beer was $10 and my mojito was $15. Alcoholic beverages were good at least. I definitely felt it in the end once I got home lol. Parking is in the street wherever u find it honestly. free at night but not on weekdays.

3/16/24 10pm-12amWorst service. Never had a server thats everywhere but no where to be found. Almost nearly took an hour for someone to attend us . I am very disappointed. It was me and a close friend wanted to catch up. Not a place to be, too loud the position we had was tucked in a corner near a bathroom staring at a half painted brick wall. Worst experience. You’re better off getting food up the street from a food truck. Btw the “bouncer” look like Tony Pascual order from craigslist.

I’ve dined there in person and now just had their takeout delivered and it’s so goood! I love the wings. The birria tacos were pretty good. Elote was great. Everything was fresh.

Finally decided to try El Vago cantina and sad to say I was highly disappointed. The place is nicely decorated with vibrant colors all around and music playing. We had a 30-minute wait for a table of four, but I understand since it was a busy Saturday night. After we were sat, we ordered a couple appetizers, the guacamole and steak tostadas and drinks. I also ordered a Mango Chile Margarita which was good. We received the guacamole and chips. The server also brought a plate of carne asada with rice and beans, I told her this was not what I ordered. The server stated that yes, this was what I had ordered and continued to argue with me. She stated that this was the first time this had ever happened to her, and it was my fault for ordering the wrong thing, kind of surprised as this has also never happened to me before. I asked to speak to the manager, and he said he would fix the situation. It was baffling how they messed up my order, but when I tried to address the issue, they argued with me about it as if it were my fault. Not surprisingly, when I finally got my bill, I was charged for the wrong dish. I once again asked for the manager and he was able to fix the issue. The lack of customer service was appalling, and it left a sour taste in my mouth, both figuratively and literally. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a genuine Mexican dining experience. There are plenty of places in Lawrence that can provide better services, tastier Mexican food, and a cheaper price.

They have no organization. I arrived on a Friday at 9:30 pm and entered the store and no one came to give me any information. After waiting a long time for a table, the waitress tells me that the kitchen had just closed. I know it's new but it lacks more customer service and organization. In my personal opinion I would not return.

Don't go here but if you absolutely must; go for drinks & vibes. The food is underwhelming. Small portions that are not well plated, cooked or seasoned. Example: three large birria tacos with a tiny portion of consume. Small order of guacamole with more chips than quac. Menu descriptions that are nothing like what is actually placed in front of you with items that could be allergens, such as eggs, without any warning. I returned a dish with an over easy egg on top, because it was listed on the menu. Had exactly one bite of food & sent it back because it was not what was described. They wouldn't take it off the bill until I got loud & said they could have killed me with the egg that was not in the menu description, amongst other erroneous descriptions of the dish. They argued with me about $22 when three people had gotten appetizers, multiple drinks & entrees. Horrendous customer service & we'll never return. Not spending my hard earned money on "vibes".

Nice and warm place, food and drinks ok but…… the girl who attended us took forever to get us food and drinks… great place but so far the worst service I ever had… not saying the service in general is like that… just my 2 cents.

It's a new place and really nice inside. Very good vibe. Servers, bartenders and hostesses were very welcoming. We just came to check it out and we weren't disappointed. We ordered drinks and guacamole. The presentation of everything was great. The only thing was that the entrees were a little expensive just perusing the menu. I would definitely go back for the guacamole because it was great.

Wasn’t authentic like they say. Food had a Dominican twist to it over priced. Same owners as Terra Luna, they sneak in “service charge” 15% doesn’t matter if it’s two people or six
