I hosted a private event upstairs for about 65 ppl. The food was fantastic - we had tips, rice and salad, as well as plenty of apps beforehand - there was plenty of food for our guests. The bartenders and wait staff were so helpful that evening. Penny, the owner and Chris, the cook - could not have been more accommodating to us; always checking in- great communication while planning. The room was rustic with tables scattered throughout for the guest. Our evening was perfect.

I'm new here and The Worthen is quickly my go-to fav. All the comfort food, flat-screen sports, KENO, the juke or live, history, stellar wait staff, and best ... all your bros!I had the bacon-cheeseburger (in paradise), and the very finest in liquid refreshment.SO good you're torn between tellin' yer bro, "This is so awesome, I'll share half with you!" -&- "be careful, I might bite yer arm off if you mess wid dat!!"They cook-it-up right in front of you. Welcome to Lowell !!

Worthern employees are very hostile. They do a horrible job at conflict management and one of their bartenders, Marissa, is very vindictive, rude, and racist. Worthern is a dump. Bar fights, stabbings, the second floor will eventually cave in. I do not recommend anybody go to Worthern. Marissa is a racist.P.s. Their are very few places to unwind in Lowell, but out of the few most Lowellians frequent, I would have to say that this is the worst bar in the whole town. They earned the reputation. I am never going back. And if you are African/African American, you really shouldn't either. In response to the owner's reply:Your dismissal of my account signifies that even when one of your patrons are targeted and lied against you will never take responsibility for the ill-mannered employee, and instead just avoid them at all costs and form an invisible force field where an individual is disbarred from enjoying their town. I've had it with the Worthern and their incredulous posse. Yesterday, as I sat at the bar a woman walked up to me and asked me if I had served in the military before. I asked why and she said it was because the way I carried myself --- poised and self-contained. She gave me great praise for just watching a hockey game. Didn't ask for it. When Marissa shows up to work I am suddenly out the door arguing with the doorman. You see how bias could have played a part in this? This is how it all began. I asked a woman if she was occupying the seat between us. Marissa just buds in the conversattion and says I am in the lady's way. Which I was not. There was a barstool of space between us, so can you see the foul lies that go on at the Worthern? Things swiftly descend for no other reason than BIAS.

The restaurant is dark and full of antique decorations. Quite atmospheric. We were there for lunch. Our meals were terrific and served promptly. The Worthen House has a lot of history and the food was good. It is close to the NPS visitor's center.

New Year's Eve! Great spread for the regulars. Met a new bartender, Helen, she was wonderful and I have to say she made the pub her own with small talk and showing people to the complimentary food. She was wonderful. I was with my bestie an it was so nice, that we could mingle early with all the local regulars that were around 45-55 it was great. After a couple experiences that weren't so friendly, I made sure to tip well and pull the manager aside to thank her. It was a great to be around people of my age group and no drama for New Year's Eve. Definitely check it out. My best experience by far! Highly recommend, the owner Penny definitely picked the cream of the crop for this night! Attentive and highly recommended. Definitely on point with drinks and drafts

Best bar in all of Lowell. The bartenders are always super friendly even when busy. They have their own ipa which is solid. Overall cool place with lots of history.
