Ok, I keep forgetting to update our review from 12 years ago. We move out of the area and we returned about 3 years ago. We don't know what exactly happened but this place is now one of our favorites. This is in fact my favorite ramen place in this area. We'll keep coming back here and just ignore my old review and check this place out.

My family adores this restaurant. We’ve visited 4 or 5 times and each time we go the experience is excellent. The service is not the best ever - but it’s still very good, especially considering we’ve only ever seen one waiter there. No matter what day, what time, we’ve only seen this one individual taking care of the entire dining room. I’ve witnessed him navigating 9 or 10 tables the same way he does 2 or 3. He’s calm and pleasant, not frazzled or pushy. He’s a wonderful ambassador of the cuisine. If you ask his opinion of anything on the menu he will give an honest answer. It’s easy when everything is so good! But seriously, when you show interest, his excitement for the food is visible.Honestly, we’ve never tasted anything here that is underwhelming. The seaweed salad is awesome - not only one of the best items on the menu, but one of the best dishes we’ve tasted in Mansfield. The textures and flavors are wonderful. All the sushi and sashimi we’ve tried melts in your mouth and is delightful, no matter if it’s sauced, garnished or plain. The ramen and poke bowls are delicious and always deliver for your palate. I had one of the hibachi dinners tonight and it was bang on. Honestly it would be better if the hibachi meals were cooked on a grill in front of the guest, but their restaurant is not designed for it. Such is life. Those hibachi plates are truly excellent, anyway. Our table ordered three of them this time around and we were all very happy. Even the mixed drinks (also made by the same waiter since there isn’t a bartender!!!) and sakes are excellent. The house sake (warm) is simple but pairs well with anything on the menu, and the Snow Maiden (chilled) is ethereal and not overly expensive. Oh my, the latter is a treat. Honestly, nothing here is overpriced. That’s one of the best things about this restaurant…you can leave having eaten A LOT of food, take a bit home, be super satisfied with the quality, and not break the bank for it all. In the end I can’t think of a better experience for the price anywhere in our area. I always leave feeling like I want more because my taste buds are so excited and engaged, no matter how full my stomach feels. In the end, nobody can be free from criticism. This restaurant is not dingy. I lived in a big city for a large part of my life, and I’ve seen dingy. This is not it. But it would benefit from some detail cleaning and organization in places in the dining room and restrooms. Just a little extra TLC goes a long way in the eyes of your customers.Lastly, the dessert menu is genuinely not good. That is by choice. All that is needed is to add mochi to the menu and PRESTO!!…there’s a reason for diners to stay longer and add an extra course and more beverages to the tab. From a business standpoint that’s a no-brainer. Mochi is a trendy and authentic Japanese treat that would be perfect in this setting. See how that sells and then add something more if it works. Why not?!My family loves coming here and enjoying the relaxed and relatively quiet ambiance, but we also want to talk up our favorite spot to make sure it remains sustainable. Maybe they’ll be able to add a second server. Stop in and you won’t be sorry!!

Excellent Maki. Surprisingly excellent Hot and Sour Soup. One time my take out took a tumble in my car. Not the restaurant's fault but I went back to the restaurant not knowing what to expect and they redid what was lost for free. They now have my loyalty for life.

The sushi was made well but, they taste slightly bland without the spicy sauce. I would say their chicken Yakitori was dry and overcooked. The chicken wings were crispy and good.

I have a great time each time! The best sushi and Japanese menu I know in Massachusetts.Vegetarian options: Cook is flexible and will leave meat off the non-veggie mixes on request.Dietary restrictions: Servers are attentive and the cooking staff flexible about making something I can eatParking: On a mall parking lot, very convenient.Kid-friendliness: Staff is happy to see younger guests.Wheelchair accessibility: A handicap spot is right by the door. All on one level, easy to navigate with wheelchair

Kyoto is Delish! Food is consistently good every time whether it is Sushi, Hibachi, or more traditional Chinese. Service is always good too. No complaints from this guy and we go here a lot.

Got chicken filling for lettuce wraps. Was tasty, bit oily. Got gyoza, good but small. Service was meh. Not friendly. But, maybe in their defense, it was NYs Eve (I don't like Chinese food). I use to frequent here years ago. I recall their Rock Shrimp being very good. In addition to being the only place ever to have Baked Alaska as a dessert! Idk if they still do.

I grew up near this place and drove past it about a thousand times thinking "I should go give them a try some day." Well, I finally did and I won't be driving past them anymore; I'll be driving there intentionally. My wife and I were craving some hot noodles after spending a lot of time outside and Kyoto just hit it out of the park. The shrimp tempura udon was really nice and flavorful, and the texture of the noodles was spot on. I ordered the spicy tonkotsu ramen (extra spicy) and it warmed me up in an instant. The broth and the chashu were just so wonderful. It was an absolutely perfect bowl of soup. Our server was fabulous, we got our food in less than ten minutes, and the prices are more than reasonable. What's not to love? If you're like me and have always wanted to try Kyoto, do yourself a favor and just go already.

Kyoto Mansfield Has the best sushi around! We love it when we eat in and when take out. Chris, the main waiter there is the best. He is friendly and efficient. Kristy who manages the front is super organized and keeps everything moving quickly. I can’t recommend them enough!

Kyoto is a very relaxing vibe with good food. The service was quick and polite. I was seated quickly and attended to kindly. The food was delivered in an appetizing arrangement. It was the Spicey Pork Tonkatsu. Would definitely order again. It was very flavorful and I thought a stellar bowl. It hit the spot. The broth was warm and soothing. The noodles were perfectly cookers the pork was two nice cuts of traditional pork belly like meat. The soft boiled egg is my favorite part and they nailed it. Perfect consistency of the yolk. And it was a very fun Spicy. I would recommend it. The table I provided was clean and spacious and I very much enjoyed the ambience. See my picture of the very cool light display as well. I have been inspired to do something similar in a future decoration at my house. So thank you Kyoto.

I placed a take out order for lunch today. When I went to pick up, it caught my attention that there was not a single table filled or seat at the bar taken at 1 pm. My attention was then drawn to the lack of cleanliness. The floor needed a good vacuuming. Workers were sitting in the back so it's not as if they were too busy. The first table had a bunch of paperwork thrown all over it. The resister area had piles high of junk on both sides of the register. I just kept wondering about the area which my food was prepared in and what did that look like? I hate leaving poor reviews but I don't know what has happened to Kyoto as I have been a customer for years. I hope it was just a bad day for them but unfortunately I won't be returning anytime soon.

Dont be intimidated by the front entrance. Food here was very good and drinks were on par. Great local date night spot.

Have been dining here for about 10 years (maybe more) and have never had a bad meal. The Godzilla roll is my absolute favorite sushi plate, better than any other sushi from all over the country. It is consistently delicious! The location is understated but absolutely a must dine for sushi lovers. It is a huge family favorite that I've recommended to numerous friends who now also enjoy!
