My wife surprised me today with a pastrami knish from Evan's. It was one of the most extraordinary things I've tasted in recent memory. The pastrami was of the highest quality and melted in my mouth. So happy to have this spot in the neighborhood!
Oh … my …. Goodness!!! We treated ourselves to a morning delivery of bagels and knishes and it was amazingly good!!! If you haven’t tried their (or anyone’s) knishes, you really should treat yourselves. I had the pastrami knish and the brisket knish. Both are delicious fistfuls of classic NY Deli meats in a light pastry - basically it’s handheld beef bbq without the sauce. Such a luxury! I have passed this building for years and never paid attention to what was inside. I won't make that mistake again!What this deli lacks in genteel atmosphere, it more than makes up for in friendly service and terrific food! Don't miss the chopped liver!!!
