The Stowaway Bar • $
35 County Rd, Mattapoisett

“Came in after hearing friends talking about the bloody Mary's while out to breakfast. We were greeted by a smile from the bartender Rita . The people sitting around were friendly and the set up is a good one. Horseshoe shaped bar with 15 seats the place is much nicer than what it looks like from the outside and much bigger than I thought . Great little spot has small bar menu and specials. Jukebox, booths to sit in and a pool table. Oh and keno. We started with the famous Bloody Mary. I couldn't believe what I saw when it was finished. Also made some nice breakfast shots and mimosas. Had a great time and will be back they have phone plugs under and hooks under the bar too that is an added plus“

“Recently had dinner and many drinks in one of the igloos. Menu is very limited to elevated pub grub, but every item we had was really delicious. The space is chopped up into large and small snugs, and the bar area is quite intimate. They seem to be expanding in the spring, and looking forward to that. It is the drinks that are the real draw. Craft cocktails both invented and drawn from the past with very cool descriptions on the menu. There really is nothing like this in the area. The vibe is very upbeat and fun.“

“I like to just take off on my weekends and this last one went to New Bedford, stayed in Fairhaven. I got there a bit before check in so googled bars. RT popped up close to the hotel, and I like Russian history, so I went. Friendly crowd and bar tenders in bikinis.I was happy. Bar tenders nice and competent, beers were cold and lots of laughing. Went back next night and no bikinis, but competent and nice bar tenders. Prices very reasonable. If in town again, I'll gladly go back, it's exactly what I want in a neighborhood bar.“
