Having dined at Basil Restaurant last night, I must say the ambiance was top-notch. The dim lighting and cozy seating made for a pleasant atmosphere. However, the service was a bit slow, as it took quite some time for our food to arrive. Nonetheless, when the dishes finally made their way to our table, they were delicious. I particularly enjoyed the basil-infused pasta, which was bursting with flavor. The prices were reasonable considering the quality of the food, but I do wish the portions were a tad larger. Overall, Basil Restaurant offers a decent dining experience with room for improvement in service efficiency.

Came here for a girls night out. Started dinner with martinis and my friend and I decided to get fettuccine alfredo and was very filling! We ended dinner with creme brûlée. Was nice child free night out!

The food and service were the best. The atmosphere is a bit dated but quaint.

Best meal I have had in a LONG time at a restaurant. We eat out at least once a week, live in the next town over, and I do not know how I didn't know about this place! It is tucked away in a residential area. The decor and ambiance are lovely. It reminded me of old school North End. Parking is ample - there is a large lot across the street, although other reviewers have mentioned the lot gets full. The staff and service were beyond good! If I could give more stars I would. They were attentive, very nice and always made sure we had everything we needed. I ordered the chicken marsala, and hands down, it was the best I have EVER had. Generous portion, and priced reasonably. My mom ordered one of the specials and she could not say enough good things about it. You MUST make a reservation though. Could not believe how busy this place was - early on a Wednesday evening too. If you live in the area, and even if you do not, this place is worth the trip. We will be back again. In fact, we may become regulars!

Arrived early, seated early and service started as soon as we were comfortable. Drinks and food options presented and chosen. Everything arrived as requested and was thouroughly enjoyable.

Got there on time, place was really busy, thought we were going to be waiting for a while...took about 5 minutes and we were seated. Server took her time with us, even though it was super busy, had 6-8 specials, which was terrific along with the extensive menu. Cocktails were filled to the brim, cold and just great. Four of us ordered something different and everyone weas thrilled with the meal.

REPLYING TO TOM Sorry, Tom. Reviews are based on experiences. Hence the one star rating. Next time, have your staff address the issue when it was brought up that night. I gave two people the option to make it right that night. Neither cared to talk or listen that evening. Food was good. Didn't like the way we were treated. Manager or hostess didn't care when we spoke to them.

I would highly recommend Basil's Restaurant, it is located on a quiet street in Medfield, the atmosphere is quaint and relaxing, the food is outstanding, and the service is the best I have ever experienced. Give it a try, I'm sure you will love it, we do!

Consistently very good food. Excellent service. Try the ravioli trio app. A bit of a wait for food to arrive at table, was told many take out orders were placed at same time we ordered. Will definitely return.

Great eats and top notch friendly service. Drinks are worth the trip alone & the menu is fabulous! Popular place so best make a reservation! Eating at the bar is a wonderful experience if you can catch a seat!

Always a great experience! The food is consistently fantastic - so much so that we've become weekly regulars. Make reservations because walking in off the street and getting a seat may be hard. It's that good!

Overall a very nice experience. The only downside was that I made reservations two weeks ahead of time for 7 PM and at 7:30. The reservation was still not ready so we just took a table that happened to free up. I wouldn't bother making reservations in the future. I would just try my luck at getting a seat in the bar area.

I have dined here, at Basil’s, several times over the years but have never felt the need to write a review until now. I usually go with the girls in my neighborhood and after this last experience, we all agreed it would be our last. It’s a very busy old school style restaurant. The bar with some high tops is on one side and the “restaurant” if you will is on the other. It is a very loud place. Our server was excellent and very patient. He gave the 4 of us separate checks and here lies the issues. We all realize the cost of food has gone up but this was ridiculous. I ordered a cheeseburger no lettuce, tomato, onion just plain and no side. I had a Diet Coke. My bill was $23.00. I was shocked. AND it wasn’t the best burger I ever had. They also don’t have pickles. Come on!!!! How can you have burgers without pickles I ask. One of my friends had one of the specials, 2 glasses of wine and her bill was just about $60.00. The bottom line line is the service is better than the food and the 4 of us agreed to remind ourselves the Basil’s is off our list of restaurants.Parking: Parking lot across the street
