My recommendation to you is not to order more than one meal your first time. I found the shipping charges were much more than I had planned too. I ordered 6 meals and one dessert which was a pudding I've never tasted anything like that before. I did not find any of their food very good and the two tubs of vegetables I got was 80% celery and only a few vegetables thrown in. I will say that the company responses to emails quickly and we did go back and forth a few times. The company does not want to use styrofoam to pack their food for shipping for environmental reasons. Therefore they use a cardboard box and inside the box there will be several Frozen tubs of water and a blanket of sorts that according to the company insulates the food as good as or better than styrofoam. My experience was that my food came just almost room temperature. I was hesitant to eat it but decided to try it since it didn't smell bad. And of course that's why I know it didn't taste good. I ended up throwing out more than half of the tubs because of the taste. And I didn't finish those that I started.

I am so disappointed. I had seriously high hopes for this company as they are far closer to my home than the previous company I ordered from. First they advertise as having so many menu choices that you won't eat the same thing more than two or three times a year. How does that work when many of the portions are two servings, and I received two of each single serving entree? What in the world is pumpkin cream? And I have no idea why anyone would want to eat it. I thought the breakfast chi would be kind of an oatmeal type thing, which would be delicious. It's ends up being a drink and not a great one, especially hot. Most of the fabulous looking entrees on the website were not included in my order, and I paid full price. No Groupon for me. And for those trying to lose weight, having no nutritional information on the packaging (which I'm thinking is required by law) is a major problem. At least send a suggested menu as to what combinations constitute the advertised calorie count for the day. Having to go to the website, and often not finding the product or the product not having a calorie count, is a serious pain. Okay, so this was a $200 bust. I'm going back to the company in California that is cheaper and sends a different item for each meal. Oh, and their breakfast smoothies are delicious. Peace out.

I purchased the kit through Groupon for a decent price. Once you purchase via Groupon, you are then required to register on Macro's website and pay an additional shipping fee. I contacted them regarding shipping a week early since I would be away, and they responded very quickly and were accommodating. The food arrived as scheduled in this huge box. It had two heavy ice packs inside and lots of styrofoam. While I appreciate that the food has to stay cold and protected during shipping, the thought of that much waste from future orders was a big negative. After being so excited about the menu I was disappointed to see 2 each of 5 entrees. I thought that maybe not all would be duplicated, but they were, and the ones I really wanted to try were excluded. Bummer. The first thing I noticed about these was the complete lack of vegetables. Three of the entrees contained at least 75% complex carbs and very very little protein/vegetable. This was really surprising considering it was a weight loss kit. Out of curiosity I went back to the site to view nutrition information for that week's menu, and I was surprised. The entrees that were left out, not only looked like they contained way more veggies, but were also less in carbohydrates, fat and calories. I get that maybe these freeze or travel better, but they were obviously not the best choices for weight loss. All the starch bloated me. To offset this I had to supplement my meals with a salad or additional fresh veggies which I think defeats the purpose of a delivered meal plan. Also, I was not very impressed with the flavors of the food. It just didn't taste fresh. Maybe it was a bad menu week. Overall I love the message of the company, the customer service was very friendly, and I'm sure the quality and love is there. Maybe the standard service offers more variety. I just can't justify the weekly cost this would set me back for food that was very meh. It would be easier and a heck of a lot cheaper buying entrees from Whole Foods.

I was in a car accident in North Carolina and I was unable to obtain any type vegan food while I was recuperating. A very good friend reached out to Macro-Mediterranean to help me and I was ever so delighted. My meals were delivered quickly and the first package of 24 vegan meals were even delivered on a Sunday. The meals were beyond delicious and made from the freshest of ingredients. I found myself anticipating my next meal and I was eating three of the meals a day. My next delivery of 12 meals were delivered quickly and I was delighted to see that I had so many different varieties to chose from. I would highly recommend these meals to everyone. Not knowing what to expect, my first order arrived, packaged very well to keep cold, and in perfect size containers! Breakfast, lunch and dinners are filling, packed with good tastes, and so easy to eat on the go/ busy life. Will never stop ordering. Seasonal change, they follow using best ingredients you can taste. So very happy I found them! The price I spend, I am actually saving myself because of waste of foods I don't have time to cook with all ingredients over again. Every week I vary what I order, so easy to do when they send you the email you use that to access account, add in, delete, or change whole ordering for a system and done! They didn't Have ingredients for a meal one time immediately emailed me asked me if I wanted something else told them order others they Have and it was sent with that weeks order. Have not been dissatisfied.

I used these folks years ago (until I encountered too many container and salt issues) but I was never able to find another food delivery service that measured up to their quality and service. Now, I get single serving containers (so I can leave one out and freeze one and not have to refreeze ever) and the salt is juuuuust right -- or at worst, easier to add to than remove :) The ingredients are great quality, optimally healthy and fresh and I believe they do aim for organic where possible, but at least, do not use GMO. The service is very accommodating and the deliveries are well and carefully packed and arrive very cold (though it is winter now :) ). The improvements I would hope for are: larger amounts of the servings of the side vegetables, greater variety of entrees (a lot are very similar, so the 5 week rotation feels like maybe half of that) and the single serve containers as the default so that I am not charged so much extra for them each week.
