Lovely place for breakfast, and especially great to bring kids. Warm and welcoming people, with lots of solid breakfast options. Festively decorated for the holidays when we came in!

A simple place with excellent breakfast, nice people, and really good prices. We got a veggie omelet and banana strawberry pancakes and they were both much better then I've had elsewhere, and like 12$ each.

One dollar hidden, unstated charge for tiny plastic cup of hot sauce. $1.75 hidden, unstated charge for English muffin instead of toast. $1.75 hidden, unstated charge for cheddar cheese minimally sprinkled on TOP of the omelette (??). $2.99 for weak, tasteless coffee. And finally, after a half hour at the table, my clothes smelled like this greasy place all day. Yeah, I know it's a family run place and a downtown institution with eclectic old fashioned charm, but there's no pride of ownership here -- just a struggling, dingy, less-than-mediocre joint.

The food was good, typical diner/homestyle fare. Service was friendly as well, and the ambiance had a cute homey feel. The only reason I am knocking off stars is because I was charged extra for things I didn't know were extra (the menu nor waitress addressed this). For example, charging $1 for a small thing of jelly and $1 for hot sauce was surprising to see on the bill considering most places give these out with no charge. If this issue was changed I would come back, but I don't feel charging extra for small things will make me return.

My husband & I went to the lighthouse for the first time more than five years ago. It has that classic cafe feel that doesn’t go out of style & it also is kept very clean (even the rest rooms). We live out of town but we continue to go back. We always have breakfast & it is a good classic breakfast at a very fair price. But it really is the people who are there that bring you back. Leo, the owner & cook eventually will know any regular customer’s name & he is always happy to see his returning customers. Gina remembers what you drink & has it at your table before you have even looked at the menu. She always has something to say to the kids or show to them. My granddaughters always get a special Micky Mouse pancake often delivered by Leo himself so he can say hi to the kids. There are (understandably) regulars there. If you enter with your hands full or pushing a stroller you never have to worry, someone always jumps up & lends a hand. It is the Cafe version of Cheers. There is a sense of community there. They know you & are happy to see you. If you haven’t been there definitely give it a try. A little local gem where kindness isn’t out of style.

4 of us ate there recently.3 of us were unhappy with our meals 2 couldn't eat their meals as the food was burnt. I had the fish tacos, and couldn't taste the fish. only the Cole slaw. My daughter was happy with her lobster roll.

I come here around every other week and will always do so. Service is fantastic and the owner Leo is always so kind. The food is delicious, I always get the Reuben, my bf gets the omelette because they are 5 eggs— ginormous. Coffee is always hot, and the menu is giant. Highly recommend!
