This was our first time visiting The Bangkok and it will NOT be our last! We decided to be complete fat@$$es — I mean adventurous — and delved into the small plates. If you are a person of small appetite, 1-2 small plates is enough for you (we did not stop there!). For apps/small plates, we shared the veggie crispy rolls and curry roti (fried scallion pancake). The rolls were perfectly crisp without being oily with a healthy side of pickled carrots and radish over lettuce and sweet/sour dipping sauce. The roti was served hot and crispy with a soft lemongrass soup sauce. Amazing! My carnivorous spouse added a small plate of ribs, too; she describes the ribs as “good.” In more elaborate details the curry on top tasted of a savory scallion and red beans that fit nicely with the meat of the ribs that fell from the bones (may the poor cow’s soul rest in peace).Moving onto entrees, I have a habit of testing Thai restaurants with tofu red curry. This was a healthy portion — too much to handle in one sitting — was a New England American (white people) spicy 5:10 after asking for extra spicy, luckily there was chili oil on the tables for additional spice. Anyway, the curry was creamy, not watery and had a beautiful mix of beans, red peppers, bamboo, tofu, pea pods, and chunks of eggplant, plus a side of rice. I would definitely get it again!Partner in murdering Thai food today got khao soi noodle dish that had a light yellow curry spicy (caliente) sauce with noodles, scallion, greens, herbs, vegetables, and a whole freaking chicken leg grass in a lemon grass coconut sauce, which I’m told tasted amazing. Again, God rest that chicken soul. We finished off fat@$$fest with the mango sticky rice. Well, the taste was impeccable with the just perfectly ripen mangoes, I would suggest just slightly more coconut sauce, but keep in mind I am an Asian American, not an Asian Asian. The service was wonderful and each of the people serving us was on top of our table without being overbearing. And the best part was for all of that we spent around $66 without tip. I highly recommend if you are in the Melrose area and really looking for some authentic, delicious Thai food.

Food is 3.5 stars. The reason for this review is for take out. Ordered the Pad See Ew $15 and crab Rangoon $8. Total was $34.24. So they're charging fees or adding tip I suppose. No receipt was given and no mention of fees or surcharges on their menu. Shady post-Covid business. This kind of behavior is gonna hurt restaurants in the long run.

Melrose has a decent restaurant scene but is barren when it comes to those with vegan options, so I appreciate the Bangkok's vegetarian menu. I've tried several stir fried dishes, which all have very flavorful sauces, yet the vegetables and tofu are always undercooked. If they were to crisp up the tofu and sautee the vegetables so they're not al dente, I'd give them a higher star. Updated from previous review on 2024-03-04

Food tasted very good! I have had gyoza many places, but this place has the best gyoza so far.

Seriously so good! You can’t beat the price, freshness of the ingredients, kindness of the folks there. Centrally located in Melrose and easy to grab and go or have a seat and enjoy their peaceful interior. Situated right near the melrose commuter rail. Yum! I switch between the pad Thai, Tom yum noodle soup any of the curry dishes, pineapple fried rice or the drunken noodles. Try it ! You won’t be disappointed.

I have frequented Bangkok Thai restaurant in Melrose MA several times, both for dine-in and takeout. While the food isn't bad when dining in, the service consistently falls short of expectations. Ordering takeout has been a different experience altogether. On one occasion, I ordered the teriyaki chicken skewers and was appalled to discover that the chicken was raw. Thankfully, I noticed it before serving it to my toddler. This incident raised serious concerns about the restaurant's food safety practices.Overall, I would not recommend Bangkok Thai unless it's a last resort or a matter of convenience. The inconsistent service and the incident with undercooked chicken are significant drawbacks to an otherwise mediocre dining experience.

Great authentic Thai food. We had several dishes and appreciated the care that went into each dish. Unlike many restaurants, their noodles were definitely fresh made. Many restaurants use dried noodles and the fresh ones really make a big difference. I will definitely be back. Thank you for the good food for my holiday weekend 10/10

For this establishment, my friend and I ordered a curry soup and a fried fish dish with skewered pork and Tom yum soup for appetizers. The skewered pork was delicious and tender. For the other dishes, I felt that the spice level as well as the flavor intensity were not strong enough. When it comes to Thai restaurants, I expect lots of flavor and lots of spices which I found lacking in the dishes. The food wasn’t bad and I did enjoy it, but it fell below expectations. For the ambiance, it was small but it did have a cozy vibes. The only issue was that they had a lot of delivery orders so people would stand in front of the counter which made the place packed as well as leave the door open which made it feel cold. For service, the employees were professional and friendly. They were attentive and when I needed something, they made sure to help with the issue
