Warning, do not try to cancel your reservation or you will be charged! The server did not show up to the table for 20 minutes after we sat down and there were only 3 tables with customers at that time. The food was sub par and well over priced! Also you will likely leave hungry if you only order an entree. Spent over $150 on two people to leave hungry and disappointed.

American Seasons remains one of our favorite restaurants in Nantucket. Jackson, our server, was very accommodating of our request for a different table when we first arrived, and his excellent service continued throughout the evening. The food was just as good as I remember. We had the scallop appetizer, fall vegetable salad, Giannone chicken, and the duck breast. All were delicious, as was the hearty bread that preceded the meal. I like that this restaurant is centrally located but still a bit off the beaten path of the main commercial area of town. Feels like a find.

Made an early resi the night we arrived and set a high bar for the rest of our trip Sue, our server, was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. She guided us from wine thru dessert Braised short ribs were a hit with the carnivores the pescatarian relished the halibut and plant based me savored the squash. Chef presented dishes with a keen eye for aesthetics and built a pallet pleasing excursion for each of us Thanks for a fantastic start to our birthday/anniversary sojourn to The Gray Lady

Our table in the front was perfect and so comfortable with all those pillows. Our cocktails were made to perfection as was our meal. Wonderful ambience and service. Highly recommended

Always a great dining experience this was a first. I was disappointed in both meal and wait staff. Our entry was overdone and tough. If our server had bothered to ask we would have sent it back. However she seemed irritated that we asked a few questions about the entry's and disappeared. Hoping the desert would be better we waited 25 minutes to be served after ordering and again we're disappointed. I'm hoping this is an outlier experience

We hadn't eaten here in about 15 years and were really looking forward to returning. Not sure if it's due to so many farm to table restaurants widely available but we thought the menu was a bit limited, but we also understood why. I had duck and, although prepared very nicely, it was a tad chewy. With eating so much rich food around the island the paucity of anything green was a disappointment. The menu was quite rich. Yet I still think it's a very good restaurant and would recommend it.

We have never been disappointed at American Seasons, and this past weekend was no exception! We were celebrating both my husband's retirement and our anniversary. I had asked for a quiet table (2 different staff checked in with us to ensure that we were happy with our seating arrangement), and we were! We were tucked into a small booth in a quiet corner. Our waiter was knowledgeable and was able to answer questions about the menu. The food was amazing as always! We will continue to be back, and to recommend American Seasons to others seeking a unique dining experience! Thank you for making these occasional special!

We came during a tropical storm, so the restaurant only had a few tables filled. The service and food were excellent, and our server repeatedly expressed her appreciation that we came out in the high winds.

My wife and I had dinner at American Seasons last night. I had an Old Fashioned cocktail and my wife had a glass of Chardonnay. My wife started with a green salad. It was very light and extraordinarily fresh. She had the scallops appetizer as an entree. I had the halibut entree. My wife's scallops were very good and my halibut with cauliflower purée and mushrooms was the best halibut I have ever eaten. We both had the chocolate mousse with cherries and pistachio cake. It was excellent (I thought the cherries could have been a touch sweeter). The restaurant was not crowded (a c Category 2 hurricane was headed towards the island) and the service was quite good.

Everything was excellent including food service and ambience. The only problem was there was a party of about 15 at another table making far too much noise! In a restaurant of your size a party that big probably should not be allowed as there is not a private space for them. Please accept this as a constructive criticism as we have dined at American Seasons on several occasions and plan to again.

Fantastic spot right on the edge of the center of town. Service was superb--friendly, attentive, and helpful. Food was fantastic. Fish fresh and perfectly cooked, everything season nicely. Exactly what you hope for when eating out on Nantucket.

We loved the ambiance very much, and the staff was very helpful and attentive. It would be a 5 Star review if my Beef Tenderloin had been so mediocre and not worth the price tag. Everything else was superb. I would not go back.

We had 8pm reservations for 3 on September 10. No hostess at the station for over 5 minutes. We were seated at a table without a tablecloth or silverware and a wilted plant on top. Finally served one warm slice of bread. The meal was very limited, about 7 or 8 entrees unlike the namesake American Seasons menu which reflected regional dishes. My $67 beef tenderloin was flavorful and well prepared but with very modest, flavorless accoutrements. We’ve been coming to American Se Seasons for thirty years when my daughter was a hostess during college. Never again unfortunately.

They show black tea on their menu (for $7) but couldn't serve it because their hot water machine was broken and their 3 cooks were too busy to boil a pot of water! That is NOT good service.

The food is great and the restaurant has quite a nice ambience. It is quite noisy - the service was a bit spotty for a fine restaurant. Had been before and would return.
