Aside from the very expensive meal ($385 for two) which certainly was not worth the price tag, they added on their own additional tip. The bill with the tip came to $425 and when we received our credit card statement they added on an additional tip of $13.60. We disputed this unauthorized addition. So I guess they think $425 is not enough for an average meal.

Service.. was spotty. .the wait staff and waiter`s assistants seemed to lack proper training to work in a "fine" restaurant..the..table was not properly cleaned between courses..dishes were whisked away without even asking if one was done eating! Not sure what the rush was??Not professional . Food..we certainly had better..salad.. ,lobster bisque almost tasteless main meal..crab cake..very small over cooked ,bland...the lobster portion was at best two bites(must of been a baby lobster..or only one half a tail.. and gone...nothing special. Cream brulee..just about passing. Certainly not a "fine" restauraunt Not sure what all the "fuss"is about.Overall the worst meal ever had on Nantucket . The all ready severely overpriced meal..$135 pp plus tax ,tip.drinks and water was charged at $165pp plus tax,tip and water.. Calls to management went unanswered.

Perfect evening! Service was attentive and friendly. Food was so good, and the wine suggested by sommelier was perfect and complimented meal so well. The atmosphere and music added to the experience. Highly recommend this dining experience!

Everything was delicious! And the service was amazing. Thank you, Dillion and Chef Keller for making our 12th wedding anniversary so special. See you again next year!

This is one of the biggest wastes of money you can spend on island. Have been a few times now, each time hoping for a different result. It's always the same - overpriced (I'm not posting this because of the price - I knew and accepted going into this meal that it was going to be $500+), mediocre food (potentially even below average), average to poor service, great ambiance. Tonight's meal was Beef Wellington. We ordered a bottle of red wine and were served a different bottle. We asked our server if we could get the bottle we ordered. He never came back. The restaurant is like 1,000 sq ft which was extremely awkward. Luckily someone else eventually helped us (she was great) and we got a new bottle of wine 45 minutes into sitting down. Next the salad. Heavy, heavy dressing. Good dressing but the lettuce was extremely soggy. Good flavor on the tomatoes. Everything else was a throw away. Then the beef. One came medium plus and one came extra well done. No one asked us at the outset how we wanted our steak cooked since it was pre fixe beef Wellington. I guess we were expecting medium rare. If really well done filet is your thing then this is for you. The pate was flavorless - like actually couldn't taste anything. The puff pastry shell was fine. Nothing terrible but also not good. Finally the dessert. Really nice flavor on the lemon custard part of the lemon tart. The pastry shell was legit bad. No flavor, sawdust consistency. Lastly, if you are the chef don't come around to awkwardly talk to every table after you just gouged them on their meal. Respectfully, the food stinks. In a vacuum, this would have been a bad dinner. The fact that the meal was $550+ sealed the deal that we will absolutely never come back and tell everyone we know to avoid at all costs. This is a real review. I have no vendetta against the restaurant. I wish them well. Hope this helps save someone else from wasting their time and money.

Getting a reservation was not easy, but we had a lovely experience. For the night of our reservation, the main entree was the Beef Wellington. Each item was prepared to perfection and full of great flavor. We opted for the wine pairing and I found that to be worth it, they were all delicious. A shout out to the staff, they provided us with great service from the beginning until the end.

An elegant historical building turned into a fine dining experience. The candlelight transports you to another time. Each night the chef's prefix menu changes. There is an excellent vegetarian option of vegetable lasagna. Popovers are not to be missed. I especially enjoy speaking to the chef at the end of the sitting. My second time and I plan to visit every time I'm on Nantucket.

I had an amazing meal tonight. The salad was simple but so fresh and flavorful. The lobster bisque was astounding and our risotto with lobster and crab cakes was heavenly. We only did two wine pairings but I can't say enough about their sommelier and her interesting stories. I enjoyed every aspect of my evening.

This is a special place, with a special story. The chef, Joseph Keller and the rest of his team pay special attention to the food and experience at this quaint bistro setting. If you’ve been to French Laundry, Bouchon, Ad Hoc or Per Se,then you understand quality and feel lucky that you got a reservation. The same here at The Company of the Cauldron. They go out of the way to make you feel special. Joseph has a history having spent summers in Nantucket, and understands how special the people in this restaurant is, giving them a memorable experience that only he and Nantucket can offer. Joseph and his team took great care of us as we celebrated Mother’s Day. Every foodie would be crazy not to find themselves at The Company on their visit to ACK! You will nevertheless forget and worth every penny!

This restaurant just sucks. Made a reservation ahead of time. However, rude and dump cook Matthew ruined our dinner.. his cooking skills are one of the worst I had ever experienced in my life.. the salad was looking like someone chewed it and spilled it out.. the steak was nasty and the whole dinner didn't cost the money we spent. I do not recommend this overpriced restaurant with out dated kitchen...

Terrible customer experience, very mediocre food. I come to Nantucket often and have tried nearly all the amazing restaurants - this place is the biggest disappointment.

I am very disappointed with the reviews I have read, so far. This eatery used to to be called THE BROTHERHOOD OF THIEVES. I have no idea what caused it to change names? Owners/ Hands? whatever? I have NOT been to this eatery in sometime. The Brotherhood as it was known then did not serve POPOVERS. They used to serve the BEST ! hamburgers/ cheeseburgers/ crispy, golden curly fries and cocktails that you could get on island! The waiting line was often long and tiresome. I remember waiting (2.0) hours one HOT! summer for a seat inside. No reservations taken! "The husband" waited, while I shopped! Great arrangement!! It was fun inside with a feeling that diners had just stepped into an olde world residence, where mysterious and dark happenings occurred. I loved it! Now, reading that it has changed names / hands and increased prices to way over the top and serves Popovers (which I love) makes me feel like things have changed in THE BROTHERHOOD by leaps and bounds. This I find somewhat ...sad. Its quirkiness, was once a staple on the Island of Nantucket. That too has changed. US Tourists no longer want fun or quirky, even if the food is great! And it was, for a long time! Now US Tourists seem to want to travel to far away places, to purchase the very same MALL junk they can get @ home and to eat the very same food they eat can @ home. Then, they all whine about the prices of everything! Island hoppng is and always has been quite expensie! It's island living look @ Hawaii's prices of food, trinkets and the hotels! DUH! I am not sure of things are done for the better here or not? I only know that I LOVED, LOVED THIS EATERY WHEN IT WAS THE BROTHERHOOD OF THIEVES!
