We treated ourselves to a staycation and have always been curious about the Greydon House. The restaurant and Bar area are incredibly well designed so how exciting to stay in the hotel !Sadly overall we did not LOVE our stay here. Positives first: Our deluxe king size room on the second floor was spacious & light filled. The shower pressure was incredible. The toiletries were lovely and the scents were all gender fragrance neutral!Negatives: Noisy! We could hear every conversation from passersby's on the street. AND this is off season! Mornings were interrupted with garbage trucks, of course not the fault of the hotel but definitely part of the experience. The building naturally is very old but there's no insulation in the walls so we could hear everything our neighbors above us were doing at 1.45am.Room was well appointed but some of the furniture was definitely banged up and in need of love. The tea and coffee station off the lobby only had black caffeinated tea and when we enquired about an herbal tea we were told we would be charged for it because it would come from the restaurant which we are thinking is separate from the hotel? We are glad we tried this and we are happy we did not pay the in season rate otherwise we would have really been unhappy.

Be very careful re room selection. Rooms are small with limited seating (one chair in each of two rooms we had) and there is no lobby or guest seating area, so you end up sitting on bed. One room was on street side with bed against window so we felt exposed (and could hear passerby). Streetlights shone in around blinds. Nice finishes but felt like less regard for guest comfort, e.g. bedside lights on single switch so one person can’t have light while the other sleeps. We wouldn’t stay again even at deeply discounted off season rates.

Greydon House is a feast for the senses! Excellent house keeping and cleanliness. Visually stunning from top to bottom both outside and inside. Masterful design choices, textures and colors. Everywhere you step, the air is scented of rosemary, geranium, patchouli and bergamot. The drinks at the bar were delicious and the menu offerings superb! Ending the nights in the gorgeous tiled shower with excellent water pressure and then slipping into the comfortable bed with beautiful, soft linens while listening to the jovial activity below on the street through open windows was simply heaven. We will certainly be back!Rooms: Stunning details, VERY clean, well appointed and perfectly comfortable!Safety: We felt VERY safe!Walkability: Perfect location to all things downtown, shopping, dining and the ferries!Food & drinks: Top notch menu, STUNNING atmosphere!

Beautiful boutique hotel. Showers and bedding are luxurious and amazing. Very convenient walk to ferries, Jetties beach, downtown. Also close to shuttle to Cisco brewing and stop for the Wave bus. Stayed two years in a row and love it here.

This was a great stay! The beautiful wood and tiled interiors made this quaint inn great to return to after a long day. The rooms were cozy, beds and pillows were soft, and the shower was fantastic. Kate and John were both a great help to me and provided top tier recs for things to eat/see in town. Would definitely return on my next stay and recommend to others!

Fairly nice place but I rate it low for a THOUGHTLESS DESIGN CHOICE. Hotels should be CONSIDERATE of guest needs. Someone made the decision to put cheap-o hanging lamps over the bedside tables. These are the ONLY SOURCES OF LIGHT in the bedroom. These lamps are wired to a switch by the door of the room. Soooo…. If you need to have a little light in the middle of the night, you can’t just reach and turn on the light, you need to get out of bed, walk to the door, and illuminate the entire room! Yes, it’s more convenient than using a flint and stone to light a whale-oil lamp. Is it “quaint”? NOPE. It’s a pain in the neck, is what it is. Now how would a designer avoid such a screw-up? Well MAYBE by thinking of how the design affects the guest, instead of only thinking of how cute the lamps look in photos on the website or how much money is saved. In other words, by BEING CONSIDERATE. It’s a SHAME that an otherwise nice place has such an idiotic flaw, but there you go. Two stars.

Really fantastic stay. Everything in the room is perfectly appointed from the sheets to the tiles and decor. The staff at front desk were very helpful. The bed was very comfortable. The shower was the best I have had in a long time. Hot and great water pressure.

Loved staying at the Greydon House. Some highlights include the excellent service, prime location, comfortable bed, and strong shower water pressure. Would highly recommend this boutique hotel and will certainly stay again next time.

Such a romantic place. We loved our room for our anniversary. Everything about it was fantastic! Soft bed, great robes, wonderful shower pressure and it is just beautifully decorated. You can walk to anywhere you need to go. Brandt point for dinner or Lemon Press for breakfast. Close to the ferry as well. No need to rush to get to the dock.

Cozy, moody, close proximity to all the nearby restaurants and shops! No on-site parking, though.

We stayed here to celebrate an anniversary for a weekend. It was incredibly dog friendly, and an easy walk to all shops and the ferry. Rooms were beautifully designed, though very small. We had a great dinner at the in house restaurant, but would have welcomed breakfast on the property as well. We would happily return, though would make a point of requesting a larger room next time.

Pros: Location - close to the Ferry, about a 5 minute walk. Close to the main shopping area and restaurants. Clean. Cons: as most places in Nantucket, there is no parking. In the summer if you do find parking, the maximin time allotted is 2 hours, which means you have to move your car every two hours. After mid October apparently you can leave your car longer in the 2 hour limit areas. I had to park 5 blocks away from the hotel, certainly not convenient when you have bags. Do not get a “Garden Level” room (basement): the hallway is dark and there were boxes stacked near our door the entire time of our stay. The shower fixture was broken and wasn’t usable, but they did get it fixed for us later in the morning. Walls are thin; I could hear our neighbor snoring.
