Newburyport Rear Range Lighthouse

A fun experience for a special occasion. The cost to reserve the lighthouse is a bit hefty at $350 for 1 couple, $700 for 2 couples, but it goes to The Lighthouse Preservation Society. Highly recommend this once in a lifetime, private dining experience. My husband surprised me and it was just perfect from start to finish. At 6pm we met our lovely server and then climbed the steep stairs & ladder, through the hatch, to the top of lighthouse. The table was set with flowers & candles, soft music playing — very private, very sweet. Since it became privately owned, the Newburyport Harbor Rear Range Light was renamed Newburyport Lighthouse. No trip to Newburyport is complete with a visit to this and the two other lighthouses in the area. Its location, shape, and brick construction make it a curiosity. It is one of Newburyport’s landmarks. The fact that it’s open to the public for hire for breakfast, lunch, or dinner makes it quite special.
