Came in with my family and some old friends we haven’t seen in a very long time, our waitress was friendly and very helpful with choosing a beer I liked. Ordered our food around 5:15, our waitress came back over about 5-10 minutes later asking if we wanted to put anything else in because the kitchen was closing…. On a Sunday night with a full house the brewery was closing at 6pm ? Either way, it was ok because we had ordered our food and we were enjoying our company.Food came out and the nachos were amazing, the cheese pizza was amazing, but the vegan cheese pizza was not very good and no one even ate more than one bite of it. Our waitress came back over to ask about it and I explained it wasn’t very good, but left it at that. She very nicely offered to have her manager take it off if we weren’t going to eat it. We watched her bring it to the manager to explain what happened and watched that managers body language show how annoyed she was and watched her roll her eyes at the poor girl. It wasn’t her fault we didn’t like the food, but she was getting the brunt of the annoyance.Around 5:40, with an almost fully packed dining room, the staff started to stack chairs on the two tables that didn’t have anyone at them . They made it very clear that we had to rush to leave and it looked as though most people got the hint. After each table left, they stacked those chairs. I have never, in my 15+ years of hospitality, seen a manager or restaurant be ok with treating their customers like this. I understand wanting to close “on time”, but unfortunately in this business that is not at your discretion, it is at the customers and how much food or drink they have left. I hope that the owner reads this, or better yet the manager from tonight (2/25). Please do better for your customers and staff.

I had a great experience hosting a small event at Riverwalk. Mel and team were very responsive to questions, and made it very low stress. All of the staff members were super friendly and helpful. Food and drinks were excellent!

Cool place. Fast, friendly service. Pumpkin beer was really good! Food was tasty - the wings were AMAZING. They're beer braised, extremely tender and very flavorful. Pizza was just okay (sorry, I'm a New Yorker) but still enjoyable. My husband enjoyed the beer; he bought a four pack of Hit of Haze. Fun, local place! Worth a visit, for sure!

Inside and out, Riverwalk is my favorite place to drink a beer in Newburyport. Awesome energy from everyone who works here. And don't tell anyone: in a city with several excellent pizza options, theirs is the best. Cheers!

Great beer and fun atmosphere.....but the fruit flies are everywhere and I had to fish 3 out of my beer and the servers seem aloof...seems like only kids work here

My wife and I have been here a few times now recently. We enjoyed it every time. It’s nice to have a brewery with good beer, hard seltzers, pizza, and different handheld options. Something for everyone which is great. Also family and dog friendly with great service.

They had a good variety of food. The pickle pizza was a nice surprise to see as a special on the menu for the day. As a big fan of pickles, it could have used more, but it was still good. Nice, relaxing environment. The staff were really nice.

We were in from Illinois visiting family and decided to take an afternoon to go brewery hopping. Of the 3 we visited this was our favorite. The beer was really good. The Nitro beer was so cool and something different than other breweries have. The staff was really friendly. Kevin (I think his name was) had a lot of knowledge and stories to share. We will definitely be back!

Pizza was garbage, beers were what you would expect. Sanwiches were much better than pizza which was overpriced, chewy and without toppings.

As the name implies, RiverWalk is located right on the Clipper City Rail Trail which links to the Newburyport Harborwalk. It's also steps away from the Newburyport commuter rail station. But even though they're so conveniently situated, there are some annoying attributes to their setup.First, you can't access the brewery from the rail trail. It's all fenced in, with signs discouraging people from climbing the fence. Yet families who were patronizing the brewery on the other side of the fence had their kids climbing up the hill and scaling the fence. SMH. Why not just create an opening in the fence so that folks along the rail trail can make an easy shortcut to the brewery and its outdoor beer garden?Second, even if you use local streets to reach the brewery from the train station, instead of the more direct rail trail (as Google Maps erroneously tells you to), you have to go to the *far* (western) side of the brewery building and all *around* it to the entrance far at the back. It would be much easier to walk along the *near* (eastern) side of the brewery (as you come in from the train station) but this is all a disused loading area that's overgrown with weeds. Why not create a direct footpath to the brewery on this eastern side of the building?Still, once I made it inside, after all these detours, I appreciated how they have a fairly comprehensive food menu to help you soak up the booze. Offerings include apps like pretzels, wings, and nachos; mains like mac and cheese and pulled pork sandwiches; salads; and pizze. And when I stopped by, they were offering a "donut flight" that was right up my alley: three taster-sized drinks readily paired with food - in this case, one donut each. An excellent way to try out their offerings - all light and refreshing on a warm summer day, like the Riverwalk IPA, Sno Cone NEIPA, and Mandarina Nirvana NEIPA. Message to RiverWalk: make it easier for pedestrians coming from the rail trail and the MBTA station to walk right up to the beer garden and pouring area. You have the perfect location but are doing your best *not* to maximize it.

We really enjoyed ourselves. Great space for children- particularly the outdoor space. We especially enjoyed the Riverwalk IPA, the Yacht Rocker, and the gum drop (something like that). We didn't get the pizza, but it looked awesome. Our toddler very much enjoyed his cast iron Mac and Cheese. The noodle salad was good, though a tad bit bland.

Friendly service, tasty beverages, and a solid food offering. So glad they offer vegan cheese! Great vibe for all.
