I was working in the area and decided to stop by on a whim. Wow, some of the best tasting sushi I've ever had! The staff is also incredibly friendly and happy to help with their extensive saki selection. Will definitely be back.

Wow - what a find! Definitely stop by if you're in the area and wanting sushi. I was so impressed from start to finish. First: the FOOD! Everything was absolutely fresh and delicious. No regrets on any order. I went with two other people and we ordered the following: - edamame - salty, plump, and perfectly steamed - spicy avocado shrimp salad - like nothing i've ever had! the flavors were so incredible! the best way i can describe it is like a tennis ball size amount of a shrimp-slaw surrounded by thinly sliced avocado. beautiful mix of creamy and acidic flavors - spicy tuna roll - the added touch of green onions was yummy - tempura shrimp roll - love that crispy texture - sweet potato roll - much more substantial than a typical version of this roll - king roll - incredible combo with the salmon on top and a mix of mango and veggies inside the rice - def my personal favorite of our selection - another tuna special roll i cannot recall the name of Secondly, the ambiance. Simply gorgeous! The restaurant has high ceilings, sexy bar seating around a U-shaped bar in the center of the restaurant, and cozy booths around the perimeter. Lots of warm gold tones and natural wood. Tasteful and classy! Thirdly, and so importantly: the service. This was especially important because one of the people who joined me is a close friend with a very severe tree nut allergy. Sushi is often a safe bet for her in terms of her allergy, but I made sure to call and ask about it when I made my reservation. Chef Alex happened to take my call and immediately addressed my concerns, assuring me that the kitchen can guarantee no cross contamination and is very careful about allergens. He even mentioned how he has two people close to him who have serious allergies as well, so it's a topic close to his heart. He added a note to our reservation and said he would personally visit our table. Fast forward to our visit, and he did personally stop by to reiterate the kitchen policies to reassure my friend. Even aside from his visit, his wife (I regretfully cannot remember her name) was so accommodating while serving us our meal. As Sushico does not have dessert, she very thoughtfully recommended nearby dessert places with allergy considerations in mind. My only request to Sushico: please add dessert!!! To Yelpers: this place is incredible!

Can't say anything about the food because we never got the chance to eat. Made a reservation for 8:15- the time offered by Alex when we called. Arrived on time, were asked to wait a moment, table being readied. After 15 minutes - incidentally, nowhere to sit, or even stand gracefully, we were just out there in the middle of the floor with wait staff bustling by that we had to dodge, the young person who greeted us came back and said all tables were only just ordering- we could sit at the back of the bar if we wanted.. Really? Did they just not bother to earmark a table for the people who reserved at 8:15? Or did they look at us and decide we were not cool enough for their establishment? (We're older). Young man said so sorry once or twice, that was it. Would have hoped that with an error of that magnitude- totally not having a table even though we'd reserved, the manager would have at least made an appearance. Better still offered to comp something, or maybe a coupon for a future visit? But no, obviously manager could not give a flying you know what. We left and had burgers down the street. Which were very tasty, by the way. Totally recommend Baramor. Really nice bartender too. Whoever wrote all those reviews about how kind and friendly the staff are is a total liar and probably a relative of the owner. Don't go there. They are terrible people.

Excellent all around. Tuna tacos were delicious and unique. Omakase was a great way to try what the chef is excited about - would trust this time and time again. Short but solid drink list. Service was also great. Look forward to coming back soon.

Best sushi I have ever had, friend of my told me about the place so me and my family drove 40 min from NH to newton and was one of the best experience with sea food I had. Great atmosphere, and the food was sensacional.

Came here because they had chutoro and that's what my partner likes. Chutoro is hard to find in MA. Service was not the best at this place. Have to wave someone down to get something each time. Ambiance is nice in here. Fish is fresh here. They have a lot of specialty rolls if you're into those types of makis. Not a lot of selection for my palette. It is all mainly sushi.

Truly one of the best sushi meals I’ve ever had - and I’ve been eating sushi around the world. Every single thing I’ve tried is beyond delicious, inventive, and super fresh. This is a MUST for sushi lovers!!!! I have no photos because the food was waaaay too good to wait!

The food was excellent and very tasty, the service was worse than at the beach buffet. It wasn’t possible to do the reservation online so when we came it was full and could only sit at the bar. Nothing wrong with that if we weren’t overlooked for 15 minutes while standing at the door. Then we were seated at the bar and went unnoticed for another 15 mins. Then we got water and no menu and another 15 mins came by. People who came after us, AND were sitting next to us got everything sooner than us. We were literally sitting there for 30 minutes with nothing. Then when we finally gave the waiter the order, our drinks never arrived. For the price of food I expect the waiter to at least give me menu when seating me. I went to this restaurant because I got glowing recommendations from my friends and honestly my evening was disappointing.

Where do I begin... I guess at the fact that I walked in as a non-sushi person and left as a super fan! I haven't ever really been a big seafood lover, for no other reason than having been a picky child who never grew out of it :) While I love a good veggie based roll, I knew I had been missing out. I have heard so many rave reviews about SUSHICO, I was willing to step very far outside of my comfort zone and see what the buzz was about.Chef Alex went above and beyond to make my experience exceptional, and comfortable. He spent time at our table (on a busy Saturday night), talking about the flavors I like, where and how the ingredients his restaurant uses are sourced and the pride he takes in ensuring only the best in quality.I was blown away by the flavors, textures and overall deliciousness of everything we had. My husband, who is also an avid sushi ,fan proclaimed it was the best he ever had and we could never go anywhere else! Chef Alex came back to check on us many times throughout the evening and couldn't have been a more gracious host.We look forward to many more visits in the (near) future and highly recommend SUSHICO to all!

Woke up still dreaming about the Boomer roll… Two of my girlfriends and I came to SushiCo for the first time and will never waste money on any other sushi. We gave chef Alex free rein to bring us whatever he suggested. Every single thing was better than the next, bursting with flavor, incredibly fresh, and became tastier with every bite. We will be back every Friday.

Outstanding sushi, in my opinion the best in Boston. Creative combinations, very fresh fish and a knowledgeable chef. We let Chef Alex choose our meal for us and he always delivers an amazing selection of sushi.
