This is now an Indian Restaurant. At some point in 2023 The Walnut Grill converted or was sold to new owners who serve Traditional Indian Food.

Walnut Grille has transitioned to a new restaurant, Shiva’s Kitchen, serving Indian cuisine. The owner is the same, Siva Kumar, who has another Indian restaurant in Watertown, India Kitchen.

Friends I was staying with on my recent trip to Needham took me for dinner to Walnut Grille as I am a vegetarian. We had an amazing dinner and I was surprised how they excelled at serving such delicious cuisine from different corners of the world. We had Gobi Manchurian (Indo/Chinese), Arancini (Italian) and Thai Red Curry for mains ... each very delicious.Thank you Team Walnut Grille.Vegetarian options: They have a wide choice both for vegetarians and vegan

So tasty, and deliciously vegan. The BBQ seitan is so good.Parking: Street parking is limited, but plenty more around the corner.

We had the best vegan Reuben ever. And we actually all agreed on that. We also had the falafel which was also very delicious. Lastly, the staff is extremely friendly. If you’re vegan, you have to try this restaurant.

This is a good vegetarian/vegan restaurant. There are few such restaurants in this area. We had the vegan chicken piccata and Thai Red curry. The red curry was superb - creamy and just the right amount of sweet. The service was quite delayed. It is possible that they were facing a shortage of workers.Vegetarian options: This is a pure vegetarian/vegan restaurant. I would love to see more of these in the area.Parking: Parking is available right behind the site.

One of my favorite restaurants. Their menu was recently pared down from the more extensive one they used to have, but they still have plenty of delicious options. The Gobi Manchurian appetizer rocks; the samosas are super tasty; the "chicken" picatta blew me away; my hubby and I both love the portabella "steak". I've never had anything bad at Walnut Grille!

One of a kind restaurant. Incredible food, the staff cares deeply about their patrons, nice atmosphere. It’s a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. These people know their stuff and are super accommodating. Also, while you will sometimes see a party of fancy diners dressed to the nines, it’s simultaneously a very casual spot. Very inclusive, unpretentious, and genuinely positive.

The best veg restaurant in Boston hands down. If you love home cooking, come here. The vegan restaurant scene has come into its own over the past few years, but there is nothing like authentic cuisine. When I move away, I will greatly miss Walnut Grille. The Ghobi Manchurian is the best you will find.Vegetarian options: TerrificParking: Good parking area shared with the other restaurants in the area.

We're from Miami and just visiting. We came across Walnut Grille and absolutely loved it! Lots of vegan and vegetarian options, fragrant and delicious! Great service, parking on site, and definitely you'll walk out sated and smiling!

Nice local restaurant with a full page of vegan meals and a few vegetarian options. The food was good, the staff was pleasant. They seemed to do a large amout of take-out service. The juices were a huge pint glass size. I ordered the nutty tofu. Definitely worth checking out.

We ordered cauliflower Manchurian as appetizer and quesadilla as entree, these two dishes were enough for 2 people, we even had some leftovers. Portion size is good.I so liked the taste and presentation.Vegetarian options: Most of the menu was vegetarian and can be made veganParking: They have a huge parking lot behind the restaurant, street metered parking is also available

I went in having low expectations as the menu doesn’t really have a theme, it’s a melting pot of Indian, Thai, Italian and other cuisines. Plus there wasn’t a single plant based meat option on the menu (in this age with over 500 plant meat brands in the market??).The Gobi Manchurian was exceptional, amongst the best I’ve had ever, crisp. Perfectly seasoned and flavorful without being overly spicy, sweet or sour. The other dishes were also good including the portobello steak, the nachos were gigantic and well seasoned, I would avoid the pizzas, way too much cheese abs the Thai curry was also well done. Overly nothing gourmet but all executed very well. The service is excellent and portions are huge!

There were five of us in our party and we ordered a bunch of different thing. Every single thing was outstanding. The flavors are really exceptional in all their dishes. Hard to pick a favorite but maybe the artichoke heart appetizer. Lentil soup was also exceptional. Portions are very generous. I didn't realize gratuity was built into the total and added on. When I called the next day to ask about that, they had already removed what I added on top. That is above and beyond service. I wish I lived in the area so I could go there more often. Will definitely try to visit next time I'm in Newton!

This place is amazing! So flavorful, fresh, and fairly priced. Really good variety of options, friendly about food allergies, and something to make any vegetarian/vegan happy! We ordered dinner for pickup here the day we moved to the area and we have been recommending it to everyone since.
