My wife and I drove two hours from Cooperstown and had the best dinner in memory, starting with plump delicious oysters and two main courses, scallops piccata and the dinner special of lobster and scallops pasta. Our waiter was Milton and he couldn't have been better. Dessert was pineapple flambe, ice cream and chocolate sauce served in a pineapple shell, accompanied by excellent coffee. And on Wednesday nighst, live music is provided by singer/guitarist Melissa Brinton at just the right sound level, with violin and penny whistle added by Eileen Markland. We'll definitely come again!

Recommended to us by locals. The menu is just for show. Really, it's all about the specials, both food and drink. We had crab stuffed shrimp and pistachio crusted sea bass, both were excellent. Service from Kenneth was outstanding as well. Fish comes fresh from Long Island every day (really). Ask the owner, Jose, all about it.

He took the time to talk with us about specials and menu items..he also recited the specials for the night from memory which took about 6 minutes, it was impressive. The food was great as well, I had the beet salad and shrimp fra diavolo... both were excellent!

A friend and I had the marvelous experience of dining at RJs. We started with beet salad that was filled with goat cheese and topped with a light, tasty dressing. My friend had cod that was baked with a coating of bread crumbs and placed over asparagus. I had grilled Cajun salmon that was topped with a white sauce that enhanced the taste and freshness of the fish. Both meals were cooked to perfection. Both my friend and I paired our dinners with excellent Italian wine. Making the meal extra special was that we were served by Amanda, who was attentive and extremely pleasant. I am so glad that an excellent restaurant serving fine, fresh, and healthy food in a pleasant environment is right here in Pittsfield!

I have been to Rj's a few times and I have never been disappointed. We did not have a reservation and was told it would be about 1/2 hour wait but they ended up seating us within 15 minutes. We had a cozy corner seat , which was a tight spot but still comfortable. Our waitress had to maneuver around other tables to get our food to us but she did an amazing job. The food was great but what I love the most is that they don't rush you and they encourage you to stay as long as you like. When I go out with friends its about quality time catching up and savoring the moment. If you want to just eat and go you might want to find a different place to go. They are really hospitable and the wait staff and owner work really hard. Every time I have eaten there the owner has done double duty as host and helping out the wait staff. Our waitress, I believe her name was Amanda, was great!!
Service is great, food is too. They've worked out whatever their issues were from when they first opened, now everything is great!

We went to RJs on Valentine’s Day. It wasn’t planned but while I was waiting for my husband at the drs, I saw the facebook post for their Valentine’s offer of 20% off during their lunch hours. First time there and they made the experience lovely. The food was amazing. I had the sole with crab meat and lobster sauce. The fish was cooked so tender. I don’t think I have ever tasted such a tender fish. What I loved about it in addition to the tenderness, the flavors were each there. In one bite you tasted the Sole, followed by the crabmeat, the lobster sauce that actually had lobster in it. With the next bite came the lobster sauce, crabmeat, then the Sole. The thing was which each bite and different melding of flavors, they were all there. I thoroughly enjoyed it all. Thank you and we will be back.
