Saturday night dinner with my husband was quite disappointing. I ordered pesto linguine and specified that I like my pasta al dente--it came over cooked and the pesto tasted like it was store bought. My husband's chick parm was ok, nothing to write home about. The wait staff didn't ask how the meal was. When they came after my husband was finished I told her the pesto pasta was inedible--she neither apologized or offered a replacement. Just took it away (and didn't charge for it). Charming atmosphere (the reason for 2 stars), but many better options by inspired chefs.

I've been to Ciro &Sals twice- and we decided to go every year from now on. It's absolutely beautiful- in the garden there's a gorgeous gazebo and lights. The inside is straight out of a trattoria in Italy with cozy lighting and Chianti bottles hanging from the walls. This place is an Italian escape. The service is lovely. The menu has a beautiful story of their history on the first page and is followed by a nice selection of entrees. I recommend the fried Zucchini app, the Pesce Al Umido. The specials are great too! The ingredients taste fresh and the food is flavorful. The desserts were devine as well.

Delicious food, great service and a cozy atmosphere! We loved it. Great spot at any time during the year.

We had dinner at Ciro & Sal's on Dec 30, 2023. This is the third time we have eaten at this restaurant. The prior two times were on the lower level which I would recommend. A bit cozier and more romantic. The food is excellent. Not rating 5 stars as our dining experience on this occasion felt very rushed. It was busy, we had decided to try the upstairs level. A bit noisier. There were two larger parties and our service felt rushed like they were trying to get us through the kitchen before the larger table orders. Will go again, but not on a weekend night as I think this place is better when not as busy.

Food was horrible and service was awful. The hostess had an attitude and moved are table to a 4 top when we were 6 and table sat empty rest of the night. Sauce was burnt and salmon dry and nasty. Waiter was rude and could not seem to add simple math.

Ciro and Sal's was hyped up to be one of the best Italian restaurants in Provincetown. It was a major disappointment. The tomato sauce felt like it came from a supermarket jar and the pasta was soggy. To say it's a disappointment is an understatement. This place is clearly not the same as people are describing.

I chose to eat at Ciro and Sal’s because they featured chicken Milanese on the menu. I’ve had this dish several times when I was in Florida. This particular entree also came with buttered pasta. The chicken was prepared well, a large thin portion and very crispy. It was on a bed of plain sparse arugula. A light lemon dressing would’ve made a big difference here. The pasta was hugely disappointing. It was thin spaghetti similar to what you would find in a grocery store. It was tossed in butter and garlic, but with an excessive amount of grated cheese that actually made the texture gritty. I asked the bartender if they could prepare another pasta with just butter and garlic. When she returned with the new pasta, I noticed a piece of arugula that had been in my original serving which clearly indicated they did not prepare a fresh portion, but simply rinsed my original pasta and then added the butter and garlic. This entree - a piece of chicken with store-brand pasta and a meager amount of undressed arugula - was $27. It’s unthinkable that the kitchen would choose to recycle my pasta rather than prepare a fresh portion. There are too many other wonderful restaurants in Provincetown and on the Cape for me to return to Ciro and Sal’s. They need to raise their standards and quality if they want to justify the cost of an entree such as this one.

Be sure to make reservations for this gem! Went with my fiance for our first night in town and loved our super-friendly waiter, Preston, the burrata caprese salad, and the night's wild mushroom ravioli special. Three very different seating vibes available: Lower level is brick and wood, old school tavern style; outdoors is lush courtyard bistro style; and upper level is slightly more refined, wood-paneled style fireplace. Some pesky fruit flies in the upper level oddly loved the mirror, so many just don't sit next to it during open-window season. Can't wait to go back!

Beautifully situated on a quiet side street. Terrific ambiance. Food and cost are not worth a second visit. After a friendly waiter finally got our unbalanced table to stop sliding dishes, we started with subpar appetizers. The fried zucchini was something we would expect from a pizza parlor. The fresh mozzarella and tomato were standard. The entrees were the most disappointing. The burro e formaggio was ice cold and had to be sent back. Came back cold again. It was loaded with black pepper, which isn't listed on the ingredients. We thought we may have received cacio e pepe, but the cold, clumpy cheese made us think it was an attempt at a formaggio dish. The pasta with vodka sauce cost $35. Even in Little Italy, where fresh pasta is used unlike Ciro & Sal's, we don't pay that much. We wanted to like this restaurant, but we left very disappointed.

We came here for dinner. It’s a really nice space - tables are well spaced, white tablecloths, good service. The food was kind of uninspired. Tiramisu came with whipped cream out of a can. Tomato-basil-mozzarella was not spiced properly. Cod was either previously frozen or over cooked.

Out of the four dinners we had in Provincetown this was the best. The atmosphere was very nice. Next time we will eat outside in the garden area. The food was excellent and the service great. We hope to go back.

A beautiful restaurant away from the lively touristy area specializing in Italian cuisine. The venue itself is stunning. The outdoor garden is lusciously green with strung lights that make the whole vibe extremely fairytale-like. The indoor seating is equally clean, beautiful, and spacious. The food, I have to admit, was ok. They start with a pretty measly bread basket (literally served 2 small slices of bread per person). The veal meatball wasn’t anything spectacular. It was a little dry on the inside and didn’t really taste any different than a regular meatball, which just makes it seem like a waste of a good veal. The sauce on the other hand was delicious. The Abruzzese that they note is the “#1 best dish by Cape Cod Magazine” was pretty tasty. It’s a hodgepodge of seafood in a pasta. The mussels really carried that dish because they sponged up all of the sauce so you get a burst of concentrated flavor in one bite. The scallops, as you can see in the picture, were gray and had a strange texture, which made it off-putting. My partner had the Chicken and Shrimp alla Vodka which he said was a different take on vodka sauce (creamier and sweeter) but still delicious. Our waiter told us that the chef really took a lot of time to perfect the vodka sauce and it shows! For dessert, I had the chocolate mousse which was just ok. The mousse wasn’t set and was basically chocolate soup. Overall, while the setting was beautiful, the food did not match up to the expectations. I’d return for a light snack and cocktails in the garden during the day.

Waitress was great and the fried oysters were great but the lasagne was cold and not good at all. Minestrone soup was too salty. We would not recommend or go back.

We celebrated a major wedding anniversary at this authentic Italian ristorante in Provincetown and couldn't have been more delighted. The food and service made our special evening so memorable! If you like fine Italian dining with an authentic Mediterranean ambiance, this place is for you. For a starter, my husband had the Ostriche alla giannini--oysters on the half-shell baked with pesto, bread crumbs, and parmigiano. For an entree, he enjoyed Vitello Piccato--delicate slices of veal sautéed with mushrooms and white wine in a lemon cream sauce served with a side of thin spaghetti. I had the Pesce al limone--a choice of cod or salmon broiled in a light lemon caper white wine sauce served with sautéed carrot, zucchini, and spinach. I chose salmon. Very light and cooked perfectly--not under done or overcooked. To accompany our meal, we selected a nice crisp venetian Pinot Grigio. For dessert, we shared Cuore di Panna-a confection of cream cheese, sweetened whipped cream and vanilla topped with strawberries. Our server, Vesseo was professional and attentive in every way. We looked forward to dinner at Ciro and Sal's for months in advance, and we were highly pleased.
