Bummer. I had been to KotS a few times previously and had good experiences. The first time I went I had the "Goliath" roast beef sandwich and it was so delicious I've been jonesing for it ever since. The wife and I went last night, she wanted to try this sandwich I had raved about and, woof, it was just awful. Possibly just a bad piece of meat, but there was so much gristle in every bite that it was literally inedible. When the bartender took our plates she didn't seem to care that we had only eaten 30% of our meals. She noticed, but decided to just dump it in the trash instead of asking us if everything was ok. (Was it weird that she dumped food into the trash under the cash register instead of a bus tray going to the kitchen? It was a good bit if food.) Combine that with our server's refusal to provide a list of the taps that were pouring, and it wasn't a great experience. Guess we won't be back, too bad, I wanted to like this place.

They call themselves a five star dive bar, which is awesome! Bartenders are great here! Highly recommend the meatballs!

You can't steal the Zuni Roll, without adding your own spin on it without losing a lot of respect. Be more creative and appreciate the past work other chefs have put into a dish. Shame on this place.

Kilroy's opened this past summer and calls itself a "five-star dive bar" in homage to Tully's, which used to be here, but walk inside and the airy, bright, upbeat environment is anything but a dive. It's more a cozy, modern sports bar, if the multiple sports screens are any indication. The food and drink are also several steps above typical dive fare, with a solid cocktail offering and beer on tap pairing with sandwiches, salads, and apps like wings and chicken tenders. If anything, a sports pub atmosphere - just brighter and roomier, complete with an upstairs loft. Here's to more businesses like Kilroy's succeeding here in Quincy Center!

Went for midweek lunch, bartender was friendly and attentive, food was tasty, had chili wings and Nashville hot chicken sandwich. Great place for a quick lunch in Quincy

We live nearby, we were very excited to try the place. Since this spot has opened, it consistently has appeared busy, almost to packed to walk in at times. We decided to try it one Friday night and we were very happy we did!The service was excellent, our server was very friendly and attentive. We dined in later (closer to 9 pm) and you could tell the place was starting to get more busy as the night went on, for people visiting for drinks only.We tried a few different menu options. For drinks, I started with the “The McGinn”. I was told it’s not typically served on ice, but I did request ice. It was pretty strong, but tasty. For food, we ordered the wings (Buffalo, not mentioned on the menu), The Winnie, The Wasp and The Kilroy. The wings were excellent, better than most in Quincy Center. The Winnie was very tender, it didn’t feel too heavy or fried as most fried chicken sandwiches do. The wasp wrap had a crunch to the tortilla, which was a nice touch. The Kilroy was great as well.Overall - happy to have this space in Quincy center! Will definitely be back.

It's fine, wings were great. Kilroy (meatball sub) was ordinary, as was the salad, and street corn fries (steak fries with street corn toppings). One word for this place "uninspired". They identify as "a 5 star dive bar" but honestly there's nothing 5 star or dive bar about it. What's really weird is that it somehow feels smaller than Tully's, even though they got rid of the drop ceiling and added loft seating upstairs. Good for the area, but I won't feel the need to go back anytime soon.

It is my opinion that you cannot declare yourself a dive bar. It's like being cool in high school, you either are, or you are not. The label is earned. That said, I think I see what they were going for, but other than more local clientele, the vibe appears more upscale and hip than divey. As for the experience, I regret to say it was lackluster. The only notable thing is the two drinks felt like four. Good thing I walked!I had the opportunity to try:* The Rand* The Keefe* a "non-alcoholic something, not too sweet"* The WinnieMy notes for the two drinks are roughly the same. They both were notably smooth despite the level of alcohol. Flavors for both were not too sweet, and I could see that they tried to add a creative twist. However, other than their smoothness, I find them unremarkable. In essence, nothing about them draws me to order again in a return visit. The mocktail was similarly solid, and had a little creativity. It also sat somewhere between plain and spectacular, it was neither a Shirley Temple, nor something I'd love again and again. The Winnie was a plain hot chicken sandwich. A slightly sweeter and fluffier bread, fried chicken that was tender but not quite "moist", hot sauce, and pickle chips. Fries were fresh out hot oil (not from a lamp), but otherwise unremarkable. For the service, it had a rocky start but improved substantially into my visit. At first, it's almost as if I wasn't there. No greeting, no menu, no water, nothing. However, the service became much more attentive after I was given menus and my orders were in. Finally comes the question of value: I think they are middle of the pack - they are neither cheap nor overpriced. Prices for food and cocktails are roughly in-line with the area. I was told their Shtik is a bar with food, and that they are. Yet, competition is fierce. There was to be something to bring me back, and not send me to a competitor a 2-minute walk away. The only distinct thing is sheer potency, but if I want strength, I have much cheaper alcohol in the cabinet above the fridge.

Kilroy Square has a variety of farm vendors along with a large resting area where people can rest and enjoy cooked food, beer, wine and music.

This the exact place Quincy Center needed. Great place, but no frills. Awesome food, cold beers, killer cocktails and the best bartenders
