Overall, the food was good. However, I asked for sausages to be added on,and after about the second bite, I realized it was not a sausage at all, but a hotdog. I called our waiter over and asked him and he said he was gonna go find out if it was really hotdog or sausage. He comes back and tells me that they ran out of sausage three days ago. I again asked, so this is hotdog right? He goes I don't know it was the last one and we already threw the package out so I couldn't check to see what it was.

My Review from 6 years ago... 5 Stars(Would have given more if I could)This place, this kind of dining is such a breath of fresh air, especially here in Massachusetts. There was a similar place I went to down in Florida and I figured I wouldn't experience that again until I returned. Shaking Crab answered my wish, woooo! You guys are awesome!Whether you get crab, lobster, crawfish, etc. You will not be disappointed, the experience alone will have you begging to come back for more. It's sooooo good that if you turn around after exiting the restaurant, you might be tempted to walk back in.I highly recommend the garlic noodles to start, they're out of this world! The Crawfish & shrimp combo is great, could not finish the 2 lbs but it reheated just fine.If you haven't been here, GO! If you've been here, GO AGAIN! Keep this establishment alive and kicking!____________________________________My Review from January 2024My perspective has drastically changed since. I ordered out this past weekend and let me tell you, we've done this countless times and there a noticeable decline in the quality of the order, the sauce was mostly oil, lackluster flavor of their signature "Shakin'" sauce, a real letdown, so much that we're not excited to return anytime soon, for now I'll follow current reviews and see if anything changes for the better.I'm pretty sure the honeymoons over with this place, all the offerings now seem like a watered down cash grab for the prices you're paying and for the experience you get. I am grateful I was able to partake in their apex of quality while it lasted, it's a sad day for my wife and I, who made this place special when we really wanted to treat ourselves.Prices and Quality- Crawfish, which mostly throw away weight(Claws & shell), at $11 a pound, sure, $13 a pound, maybe, but $17 for a pound, crazy!- Potatoes, you took away the finger potatoes and replaced them with just mush balls that I guess would pass as a spud, as a baked potato, OK but in a boil, c'mon guys!?- Shakin' sauce, cannot really get the benefit of this anymore as you're drowning the flavor in oil which epically dilutes the flavor, no herbs, spices to speak of. BTW, where's the Garlic? I'll answer that, 50% less than in the past, essentially ending this legendary sauce in my opinion.Overall, everything was just "off", never felt like I was having the best version of what this establishment had delivered for the almost 10 years I've been a patron. Sorry guys, you're in the boat with a lot of other restaurants who cannot find other ways to cut corners than lowering quality as well as nickel and dime the customer. If you take any pride in the establishment you built, you should have kept your format you had when you opened your doors. It's a real shame, because I have read reviews before I came in last time, doubting them and then I saw it for myself.Best of luck Shaking Crab and as for my family and friends who adored this spot, we wish them all the luck in finding somewhere else that provides the legacy experience Shaking Crab once delivered. That being said, first time customers might not agree with me and might actually enjoy this place, but man did you all miss out on a truly great thing before it all changed.

Been here before and LOVED it. Made a special trip up to Boston to go again. Only take out, no workers. Went to the one in Boston worker outside, but no one there to let him in. So sad I loved this place.

Seafood is always fresh and the dipping sauces are great! Sometimes it's a bit chilly inside other than that A-OK!

Came in late evening and got provided service instantly. It wasn’t too busy, and the manager himself greeted and seated us. We ordered a jumbo platter and it came out fairly quickly. Manager also brought out our drinks and was very friendly when holding a conversation with us. Food was quite good - we ordered hot, which wasn’t that spicy to us, so next time we’ll come back for the more spicy option. Overall loved it! Would recommend.

My recent dining experience at this restaurant was truly enjoyable, thanks to the outstanding service provided by Johnny, Remy, and Duy. Their friendliness and attentiveness enhanced our evening, and the food was equally impressive. The cozy ambiance added to the overall charm of the place. I highly recommend this restaurant, and I'll be returning for sure!

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. I went for a quick dinner the night before and decided to order something for breakfast the next day I ordered over the phone and there was miscommunication with my order. I went in to pick up the food and it was not what I ordered. I also was missing some food items. I called into communicate that and the guy said there’s no manager available and that he doesn’t know what time he will be in. I called back three hours later it’s the same thing. I do not understand why it’s so easy to take peoples money but when there’s an issue it is a hassle to get a refund. The manager ended up calling me but wouldn’t even let me get a word in to explain to him the situation he obviously didn’t care and was in a hurry to hang up the phone. I usually go to the shake and crab in chestnut hill but decided to try a new location and this was the worst experience I have ever had not to mention when I called back to see if the manager was there the guy still said he didn’t know when he’s coming in I told him why is it so hard to get a refund and that people should not have to wait all day for a refund it makes absolutely no sense. He ended up hanging up in my face. I called the chestnut hill location and they confirmed that a manager should be on duty. (I do not understand how you can run a business and have no manager on duty for half of the shift I found that very strange) their communication was very efficient and professional. These people just want your money and do not care about customer experience I say don’t waste your time and spend your money somewhere that actually value your service!

We thought this spot would be amazing since it’s downtown quincy with other great restaurants. The service and atmosphere was nice! However, the seafood was terribly over cooked, dry, and tough. We paid $100 for overcooked lobster. Such a waste!

Food was horrible. Shrimp was overcooked and seafood was not fresh. I also asked for no corn and received 4 pieces of corn and it was clearly printed on the receipt no corn. We have a food allergy in my home to corn.
