Ordered here for dinner for the first time last weekend after seeing a promotion from them on Uber eats where they were offering BOGO for some of their items. We got their burnt ends and the "nachos" which were fries loaded with pulled pork, chili and more. Everything was really good and I really liked the honey chipotle sauce we chose to get with the burnt ends. I look forward to trying their other meals as they all sound really good and would definitely get the nachos again. Super glad to have found a new bbq spot.

I was inclined to finally try this place after wanting to for so long because of a deal through Uber Eats and... wow, Larry J has a new fan that he can guarantee will be returning. I honestly can’t wait to eat here again in the future because I know it will be amazing.The quality of the food I got (Burnt Ends, Hillbilly Nachos, mac & cheese and cornbread) was unlike anything else I’ve eaten in Revere. Revere has some eclectic choices, but it’s not often that I feel *LUCKY* to have a restaurant nearby. I spent time in the south briefly, and it felt like I was back there with how high quality this barbecue was. That’s not easy to come across. The portion size was great. The sauce that I got (sweet with some heat) was also great. Even mac & cheese, which is easy to be *just* mac and cheese, was exceptionally good. No regrets getting that at all. Cornbread was phenomenal.Revere is lucky to have Larry J open up shop here. I’ll definitely be frequently eating here in the future, because I’m getting hungry for it just writing this review.

Delicious barbecue food. We picked some up this Friday and had very tasty ribs, chicken and catfish with sides of Mac and cheese, collard greens, and corn bread. Homemade sauces also very tasty. And big portions -we ordered 2 meals and had enough to carry the 2 of us through 2 meals each. Very satisfied, will be back !

I adore this restaurant! They provide superb dishes, they have a nice menu, The cook in that place is very trained, I like a lot trying all their dishes. The dishes are consistently tasty, the service towards the visitors is agreeable. I frequently visit this place and I was never disappointed. I recommend it with no hesitation.

I want to say a solid 3.5 stars. Yelp should definitely allow for half stars ratings... I just couldn't determine where I stood...., 3 or 4 stars, but ultimately, I wanted to give this establishment better credit as this was my first encounter and most likely will be returning. We ordered via UberEats. I suggest the pickup option instead. We received tepid food which may have affected our taste perception. We ordered the combo 5 - 3 ribs, 3 meats, 2 sides and a medium bbq basket - 1 meat, 2 sides. Both were reasonably priced. There is an extra $4 charge for choosing brisket and burnt ends. However, they were delicious. Both insanely tender. Robust smokey flavor. Burnt ends, in my opinion are nuggets of bbq gold, so good! Ribs were tasty as well. Fell off the bone. The pork loin did not measure up. So disappointing, it was dry and flavorless. They did make the mistake of giving us pulled chicken instead of quarter chicken. Regardless, we ate it anyway. As anticipated, I didn't really enjoy it much. I'm just not a pulled chicken fan. I would've been better off with the pulled pork version. Sides or "fixings" as they call it were decent. I opted for rice, cowboy beans, collard greens, and chili, all pretty good. My only remark is that of the cowboy beans. I expected it to be of authentic southern recipe. It was just a mixture of black and pinto beans. If you've ever ordered this dish in Texas, it consists of ground meat, onions, a sweet and tangy bbq sauce, basically a meal in itself.. I did appreciate the sauce being wrapped in its own container, no spillage here. :) I've never stepped foot inside, but given that we past this place couple times a day on our route, I can see why they aren't offering dine in services. It's such a tiny place! They do provide ample parking for picking up your order.

Placed an order through Uber Eats , we ordered the beef brisket , candied yams, Mac and cheese, potato salad, cornbread and the pulled chicken sandwich... I wasn't impressed at all... The corn bread was hard as a rock ; I attached a picture , the mac had no flavor, candied yams were not candied just sweet potato and the pulled chicken was dry... The beef brisket was the only good thing we ordered ... I was disappointed because I was looking forward to this meal ... I will not purchase again ...

My girlfriend and I ordered take out tonight. The food tasted stale. The cornbread was rock hard, the wings were dry and shriveled. The ribs tasted like they were from frozen. It was overall a bad experience.

I visit this place a lot since I work right next to it. I must say the service is always great and they keep the spot well organized regularly. Prices are convenient and they serve big portions.

I was skeptical to order soul food from this place but I went forth anyways. I ordered catfish, macaroni and cheese, collard greens, candied yams, along with corn bread. Everything was absolutely solid except the corn bread which was dry and super thick in the inside. Despite that, the meal was still very good and I would try them again.
Brisket is so good! Also, the smoked and fried wings! I got delivery and the whole order was delicious. Really like that they put the wing sauce on the side for a delivery order. Wings were still crispy and the extra sauce was great for dunking - important when the buffalo sauce is that good!

Larry J’s BBQ is a must have! I’ve been craving good barbecue since I moved to the north shore, and now I’ve finally found it! I got the pulled pork sandwich and it was incredible. The meat was so tender, the bun soft, and the sauce was to die for. I can’t wait to order from here again!

Got takeout here for the first time a couple weeks ago and it was excellent! The food was delish, everything was packaged well, and the contact-free ordering & pick-up went smoothly. We got ribs, brisket, and wings, plus a smoked baked potato, with sides of mac & cheese and cole slaw. I generally prefer a more traditional slaw w/mayo whereas this was more vinegar-based, but it was light & fresh which went well with the rich meats. I was especially impressed with the brisket, which was tender & flavorful. Portions were generous. Will be back.

So good!!! We ordered a combo plate with links, quarter chicken, and burnt ends, bbq spaghetti and Mac n cheese. It was DELICIOUS!!! More than enough for 2 people. Larry himself was there and was a friendly host. Highly recommend visiting or getting takeout. Looking forward to trying more of his food!!
