The first time I ordered from here, it was on a lark to get the chop suey sandwich I'd heard so much about. If I were rating it on that, it would have been a 1. Maybe I'm missing something, maybe it's some kind of New England tradition that I have never understood despite living here for all of my life, but the price was the only attractive thing about it, and it was the most bland thing I've eaten in years. North shore classic! $1.95 chop Suey sandwich. We ordered the classic chop suey sandwich and also picked up the tender beef sandwich. Chop Suey has chicken bland broth with bok choy, bean sprouts onions and some other unidentifiable Chinese vegetables. Tender beef sandwich gets down with Beef strips, green onion, red pepper floating in a salty gelatinous brown salty gravy. Salem Willows is a place where you can people watch and enjoy the scenic views of the ocean and enjoy the shade of large willow trees in it's large park. It's a summertime staple. Used to come crabbing off the long pier when the kids were little. A nice place to hang with many food eateries lining the outskirts of the park. Came by on a Friday night with a friend.
