i went here a while ago and ordered something along the lines of a vanilla milkshake. the two girls were taking forever to make orders and even filled my order up half way and put it to the side. a older man noticed it was there after about 10 minutes and filled the rest. later on that day i threw up. i believe it was caused by the milkshake. the hot chocolate was also quite bland.

I’ve frequented the 3 Kakawa’s in Santa Fe many times & finally made it to the Salem location. As expected, the drinking chocolate, truffles & brownie were delicious! I’ll definitely be back!

The chocolate is great quality but the flavors are just OK. The hot chocolate is also unfortunately watered down.

Comforting Chocolate Smells, Delicious Flavor!Kakawa is a Chocolate lover's paradise: There are 6 sipping (Hot) Chocolate Elixir's to choose from, daily; the flavors change from day to day, ranging from sweet to spicy; there are cases full of truffles; and even a whole bookshelf full of gourmet hot choclates for purchase, to make at home. The Jeffersonian Hot Chocolate was wonderful; and the Salem Spice is excellent if you're a white chocolate fan.Of the chocolates in the case, the goat cheese sage creams were incredible.

Stopped by on a rainy evening to try some hot chocolate. The ladies working the counter were very friendly & patient. Decent selection of chocolate truffles & treats. Hot chocolate was just okay. While I can appreciate the ambition for variety, some of them missed the mark. Some we really loved. I would say the flight is overpriced. Medium sized seating area in a welcoming environment.

Very excited to try one of these elixir hot chocolate drinks, and while the portion size leaves a lot to be desired for the price (heads up, they charge .75 cents for whipped cream), these are pretty clearly high quality ingredients. I got their chili based one, and I love spicy things, but was caught off guard with how spicy it ended up being. Still a great option but I ended up pouring in some of my friends beverage into mine to help tone down the heat.
I was sadly disappointed . Almost $5 for each piece and I literally found one that was fair to taste. The others were just not good. Spent a lot of money to throw away. Cute shop but needs better quality for that price.

Their hot coco is so good. Just be aware they come in small sizes because it's not your typical hot coco drink, it's a sipping chocolate which is so much richer and creamier. The chocolate is also amazing. I got the prickly pear and a caramel. Definitely splurge on adding whipped cream it is delicious ?

Very good. Over priced by far, but it was worth experiencing. Very nice people and you're allowed to sample the Elixers so you don't waste $6.50 on an 8 oz cup. Chocolate is around $3.50 per bite sized piece so I'd pass, but the chai drinking chocolate was worth getting! I just had her water it down with almond milk.
