My partner and I ordered the brisket cheesesteak and we both hated it. Unseasoned, no vegetables and covered in a fake cheese sauce making it just a salty sandwich. We had been walking around all day and it was a bit expensive for a sandwich so we ate it with a lot of ketchup, salt and pepper. By the time that we left salem both our stomachs were hurting and today we are sick to our stomachs.I want to make it clear every employee we interacted with was great and pleasant and they were very quick with refills and what not, so they did nothing wrong. Just really disappointing food

I really enjoyed this restaurant. It was quiet. Food was good. Servers were friendly. And it was located super close to the train station.

I went twice this past year, once in August and another mid-October, right at the peak season. Both times were wonderful, great food and nice bartenders. very cool insight and true to the salem vibe without being tacky

Salem, MA, is an enchanting city that boasts a rich tapestry of history, intriguing social narratives, and an air of mystery. This city is renowned for its iconic landmarks, exceptional dining spots, and vibrant bars. I had the pleasure of being invited for a beer at one of its notable establishments, although I was cautioned that it leans more towards cocktails. The Dire Wolf not only met but surpassed my expectations. With a soundtrack featuring the likes of Peter Gabriel, Pink Floyd, and INXS, the ambiance is undeniably steeped in classic rock vibes, setting the stage for a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The establishment is helmed by an incredibly knowledgeable and welcoming host, and the offerings are complemented by fresh, quality ingredients - albeit generously portioned - that perfectly match the excellent and carefully curated selection of beers.Observing the surroundings, I noticed an atmosphere filled with good spirits, visually appealing and deliciously crafted cocktails. Indeed, the Dire Wolf stands out as a quintessential landmark in Salem, capturing the essence of the city's charm and vitality.

The service was great and for the most part fast. Staff is friendly. I did go around 12:30/1pm on a Tuesday & to my surprise, they were offering buy a roll, get the second half off. Say less. Haha the rolls were great as was the margarita I ordered. Very chill vibe, the music was great, not too loud, and some tvs were showing sports.

Not good. This place will be out of business within a year. Got take out. Food was gross. Staff was more concerned with complaining every time a patron came through the door. Why didn’t you just leave it as Opus??

We enjoyed dinner at Dire Wolf on a Thursday evening after a visit to the Peabody Essex Museum. Our server, Josh, was very welcoming, friendly, and attentive to my food allergies. We enjoyed the special salmon rillette appetizer and shared a bowl of the fried pickles (which are now on our tweenager's list of top three appetizers ever). For entrees: the Korean blackened salmon, Massaman & coconut curry tofu, and butcher's pie were all a big hit and thoroughly enjoyed. We also thought the sushi rolls were amazing! The Iridian roll with shrimp tempura and the Yummy roll with tuna, avocado, salmon, and a white miso glaze were so tasty! A really great atmosphere and a wonderful food. Highly recommend if you're visiting Salem!Dietary restrictions: Lots of vegetarian options and very allergy attentive.Kid-friendliness: Great kid menu options.
Had the Valentines special stuffed haddock, which was great. Always love the creative cocktails. Best mixologist around. Husband had huge piece of fish with his fish and chips.
