The food at this place and others like it nearby has got way too expensive for breakfast. It will now cost you $25 to just get a sizable simple breakfast. I mean, it's just eggs toast potatoes and coffee. It's easy and quick to make anywhere. Extra ingredients don't cost much either, like onions or peppers. It's all made the same way, too everywhere. This all used to recently cost under $8, and that was fair, and you could even leave a really good tip, which is how it all worked. The food at most breakfast places on the North Shore is sub-par and not worth the money, such as under cooked eggs and potatoes. REDS does have their food cooked well, and it is delicious but still not worth the value. Some places are even having you get your own coffee refills or even pay for a second cup, and the cups are small. The only customers i see at these places regularly on weekdays and even weekends are anyone over 60 and local business executives. This is probably because they have disposable income from retirement funds. This was a favorite spot of mine when in Salem. I will now be making my same and simple breakfast right from the comforts of my own kitchen with inexpensive ingredients and cooked like I want it with an endless amount of coffee if i want.

Breakfast to die for. Superb coffee. Loved the atmosphere. Historic bldg. The server was a chic my age I wouldn't mess with (wink lol) and was from the local area, helped us with my ma that had an accident walking in the venue, missed a step and abruptly hit her head into glass pane. We never seen glass SO clean!!! Nice place.Will be back. Lovely people in this town, I will attest, they go the extra mile and will help you out♡♡♡. No complaints. The food was great. Our server was great and she provided us with local information. The building itself apparently is historic during the American revolution. We came here for breakfast so I definitely recommend for breakfast.

Went in for a late breakfast on Monday around 10AM with my husband before leaving Salem after a long weekend in the area. It wasn't busy except for a few regulars. The portions were huge and the food was amazing. I had a waffle topped with Greek yogurt, honey and fruit with a side of eggs and bacon. I managed to eat everything because it was so, so good. My husband had steak and eggs. We both got the Ultimate Bloody Mary and OMG it does not disappoint! It was spicy, yummy, and packed with toppings - bacon, lemon, shrimp, peppers, cheese, olives, etc. Service was friendly, attentive, and fast. We didn't wait long at all for our food, coffee (and refills) or drinks. Will definitely be back again the next time we're in Salem!

The omelette wasn't bad home fries ok.The glass of water it wasn't until I was half way thru because you get cought up with conversation I realized the outside of the glass wasn't so clean.The one thing I can honestly say the waitress was great.

we got the ultimate omelets and home fries. the home fries could of been warmer but the omelets where amazing. the coffee was good. the location is fantastic if you wanna eat some place with history! don't miss out
Great food and service. My breakfast was delicious. The prices were a bit off from the online menu and needs to be updated.Parking: You may have to park elsewhere for a short or even long walk. Parking is scarce. I would recommend renting a bluebike and ride there. There are plenty of them around Salem. In designated areas.

I went with my best friend, our first time there. Food was great. The waitresses were good to us, nice and friendly. The atmosphere was great with good music. Also, we did not have to wait long for a table. Will definitely be coming again and next time with our families, thank you!

Nice little place for breakfast. Prices are a little on the high price for quality (orange juice from concentrate). Can use some repairs as one of the ceiling tiles were heavily water damaged. Food was tasty, service decent.

This place has not been the same since the original owner sold it, and I have given it many chances. Lots of changes- and not for the better. Service is slower. To-go containers were changed to cardboard, so the food now sticks to it. To-go food is cold whereas before it stayed hot until you arrived home. Recently, I ordered an eggs benedict, and all I could see were the yolks. The whites had completely disappeared. It's just not the same, and I know of many other locals who feel the same way.
