Why this place doesn't have at least 4 stars is beyond me. The bartenders are amazing, definitely the biggest selling point on us going three times in one day. The view is incredible and the drinks are good but the staff is the best! I think I ordered at least three apple cider mimosas which are one of my favorites as well as a few autumn mules. We did not eat at The Roof but it was pretty quick to get a seat at the bar. Next time I am in Salem I will absolutely be back.

I loved the idea of being up on the roof. I was a little disappointed as there was not too much to see looking out. I was more disappointed there were no umbrellas and everyone had sun on them. I watched as other patrons were holding their hands over their eyes or turned in odd angles due to the bright sun. For food, we started with the corn, bean and cheese appetizer with tortilla chips. I was surprised it was cold. The people next to us inquired about it and were also surprised it was cold. This should be on the menu. Most dips with cheese are warm. It was ok but not much flavor. Our waiter was not the best and we had to ask him for things, but some waiters have off days. Other waiters around seemed to be great. The real issue was when the bill came Sodas not free refills, not even listed on the menus, and he never told us this. Also, they comes in a medium plastic cup with lots of ice, and we were charge $4.00 a plastic cup. Now remember the sun is beating on us so we were thirsty. Also, we then each got soup. My clam chowder was delicious and my husband enjoyed his chicken tortilla soup. It was a small portion and should have been $8 and $9 dollars. On this bill both were $1.00 more. Waiter got a menu and acknowledged this, and said he would let someone know and told us how the drinks were not free refills. No reduction in bill nor manager. We just left, having also been there way too long and were hot. We would not go there again.

My wife and I over heard this place while in line at a store. So we had to try it out. The best view in Salem. The drink selections are the best in Salem. My wife and I just had the quac and chips but the chips and avacado dip was delicious. Have to visit this place.

Perched atop the Hotel Salem, 'The Roof' is not just a restaurant, it's an experience. Our recent visit during Salem's bustling October Halloween festivities further cemented its place as a must-stop locale. As the elevator doors open, you're greeted with panoramic skyline views of Salem that simply take your breath away. Our lunchtime visit was met with a palpable energy. Even with the festive hustle and bustle, the staff were attentive, making sure every guest felt valued. While the menu was concise, it didn't skimp on flavor. We particularly enjoyed their diverse taco offerings and bowls - every bite seemed to tell a story. The accompanying wine and beer list, though not exhaustive, was thoughtfully curated to suit various palates.Past visits during the evening have offered us the sheer joy of witnessing some of the most mesmerizing sunsets from the rooftop bar. While it's a fun family lunch spot, it also holds memories of romantic evenings spent under the Salem sky.In essence, whether you're there for the views, the vibes, or the victuals, 'The Roof' is sure to impress. Highly recommended for both first-timers and seasoned Salem visitors.Kid-friendliness: Amid the lively atmosphere of ‘The Roof’, what stood out was the extraordinary attentiveness of the staff towards our two-year-old daughter. Instead of merely serving, they went a step beyond, making her feel both comfortable and welcome.

Had the BEST experience yesterday at The Roof! The hosts were extremely accommodating and moved us to the lounge seating since my sister-in-law was pregnant. The food was quick and absolutely delicious. It had something for everyone! As a vegetarian the cauliflower tacos were perfect! Lastly, our server Dani was the kindest and most attentive server I’ve ever had during busy spooky season. She even took a group photo of us! The view was stunning and the service was 10/10 - I absolutely recommend! Just be kind and patient with the staff and you’ll have a great experience in October:)

My visit to "The Roof" rooftop bar left me with mixed feelings. Upon being seated, we were welcomed by a very kind waitress who set a positive tone for the evening. The highlight of our experience was undoubtedly the delicious chicken wings served. They were a tasty delight.I also appreciated the seasonal touch with October-themed beers flavored with pumpkin spice, which added a unique and enjoyable element to our evening. However, my enjoyment was slightly marred by the experience with the hostess downstairs. She seemed to be on a bit of a power trip and lacked basic customer service skills. It's unfortunate when a single interaction can impact the overall impression of a place. Despite this hiccup, the friendly waitress and the tasty food and drinks at "The Roof" made the visit worthwhile.

Chose this spot on a busy weekend day because it was the only place without a line. It had a great view of Salem, but that's all it had going for it. We shared a few plates, nothing was particularly good. Service was spotty, even sitting at the bar, we had to wait 20+ mins to get the check.

I just had Thee Best experience at Salem Hotel Rooftop. Your Server Tyler is so patient, kind, funny, and outright exceptional young man.Being there to celebrate a very special birthday, Tyler went above and beyond to make this day the one to remember. We had a large group and enjoyed ourselves so much, our table was covered with delicious food. We laughed and enjoyed watching the Sunset over a beautiful city. At night the music continues and the atmosphere was so vibrant and healing.Thank you, we all look forward to returning. Thank you Tyler!

Definitely not what I was expecting. View was ok, the set up was nice. Would enjoy more if temp is 70 or below, but at 80• & full sun it was MISERABLE. There were maybe 6 chairs in the whole place that was in shade..for the price of food & drinks you would think they could afford sun shades. Not worth going back because the manager was a little rude to us & the table across from us.

Great spot to grab a drink on a fall afternoon. The views of the city are beyond compare and the space is set up well for whatever size group you might have. Lisa the bartender was a delightful conversationalist and was game to make up a new cocktail on the spot when nothing on the cocktail menu jumped out at us.

I'm here now for lunch. They don't serve coffee or tea on the rooftop restaurant. Really, a restaurant with no coffee.? The waiter says that you have to go downstairs into the hotel to get coffee or tea. Really? We go into the hotel for coffee and they won't serve coffee unless you are a hotel guest! Really?Last time here.
