I met up with the girls for dinner. Our server was quite friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious! No one got the same thing and everyone loved what they ordered!Parking: The Tavern is located inside the Hawthorne Hotel, I parked in their lot.

The burger meat was delicious, but the bottom bun was so soggy it was awful to eat and falling apart. It took over 15 minutes to get a menu to our table at the start and the waiters really push alcohol on you.

This restaurant is inside the famous Hawthorne Hotel. It’s known to be the most haunted hotel in America. The staff were super friendly and the hotel is beautiful. The food was amazing.

I recently dined at "The Tavern", located inside the elegant Hawthorne Hotel, and the experience was unforgettable. The menu, although simplified, has been studied down to the smallest detail and each dish has been executed with skill. The atmosphere of "The Tavern" is immediately captivating, with its warm decor dominated by dark woods and comfortable armchairs that invite relaxation and conversation. The lighting, soft but functional, helps to create an ideal environment for both business meetings and more intimate evenings. During my visit, I noticed that the venue is particularly popular for family reunions or meetings between friends who haven't seen each other in a while, which adds a sense of warmth and welcome. The cuisine of "The Tavern" reflects the elegance and attention to detail of the environment. While customizing how your steak is cooked may not be an option – as they have their own distinct style – every dish I tasted was flawless. The dessert, especially the bread pudding, was the highlight of the meal, ending the experience on a sweet and sophisticated note.In conclusion, "The Tavern" inside the Hawthorne Hotel is a restaurant that offers a fine dining experience in an elegant and welcoming environment. It is a place that I highly recommend to anyone looking for an excellent meal in a relaxing and refined setting.

We came here for my boyfriend’s birthday dinner, and when I say everything was absolutely perfect, I’m not exaggerating. From the ambiance, to the service, to the food. 10/10. Beautiful dim lighting, comfortable chairs. We enjoyed the Steak Au Poivre and the Coconut Curry with Chicken. The steak was the best I have had in a long time. THICK, amazing cut that was cooked ABSOLUTELY PERFECTLY to my Medium Rare liking. Flavorful, tender, amazing. And the sides were perfect as well. My boyfriend’s coconut curry chicken was excellent as well. Beautiful presentation, great taste, good quality chicken. Our server Brandon went above and beyond to ensure a wonderful dining experience. He was super friendly, down to earth, and had great energy. He was very knowledgeable about the menu, and made us feel super welcome. We enjoyed delicious creme brulee. Female manager on duty was also super warm and kind, was genuinely happy to hear our positive feedback. When Brandon found out that it was my boyfriend’s birthday, they brought out a really sweet & special birthday ice cream with a candle. Truly a romantic time, with excellent food and top notch service! Would definitely recommend this intimate spot to friends, and can’t wait to come back next time we are in Salem! Thank you Brandon, manager, and chef!Love, Briana and Kris

We had a wonderful Sunday brunch. The food was astounding and our server Brandon was amazingly attentive and made sure our stay was perfect. Brunch can be a busy time so we really did appreciate him going above and beyond. We will definitely be back again.

Three of us had Sunday morning breakfast. The food was wonderful but it was a fairly simple meal with no elaborate recipes or complicated service considerations so I have given the whole experience four stars rather than five.

Very nice. The decor was great with the whole room hardwood paneled. Food was incredible. Fish doesn't get fresher or of better quality. I personally had the meatloaf - fantastic.

We decided to hop on a train, and explore Salem on a whim, and we’re pleasantly surprised when we decided to step out of the cold and find a nice bowl of soup and a warm place to eat. The tavern was absolutely gorgeous inside with beautiful woodwork and a toasty warm atmosphere. The staff was really nice and the seafood chowder was to die for! The cocktails were delicious and we would definitely recommend this place!

Service was exceptionally slow, inattentive and truly poorly done. While functions seem to go well the restaurant is done poorly. Do not waste your time. We were there almost 3 hours due to the timing and service points. The piano was awesome! it was a prix fix menu tonight due to Valentines and yet despite ordering dessert with entrees and again at the conclusion of our meal it never arrived. At three hours in we called it a day.

Their coffee is delicious. However, the food was truly awful. My poached eggs had partially cooked whites, and were not drained before they met the barely warmed, NOT toasted english muffin. And those parm crusted potatoes on the side? Fresh out of the walk in. They may have walked them through a warm kitchen but that was it. Such a disappointment. We enjoy the food in the tavern, but never again for breakfast.
