Almost missed Cape Cod Donuts because it's located in a food truck discreetly parked around the side of a pizza and ice cream place. So happy we found it! The blueberry cake donuts were beyond delicious! I love cake donuts and these were perfection. They use fresh blueberries, had just the right amount of glaze, and they were moist and completely addictive. This is worth a detour! Just make sure to check the current hours - when I went they were only open in the morning.
FINALLY got to Cape Cod Donuts! If you love a good, old fashioned, "fry cake" doughnut; get there...NOW. The Cape Cod Donuts are SO worth the drive (no matter how far that might be). The owner, and the young man working the counter, were really nice, took the time to speak with me, and packaged an assortment; as asked. Seriously...why would anyone EVER go to a chain shop??? Absolutely the best cake donuts I’ve ever had. And I don’t even like cake donuts- at least, I didn’t till I had these. We got a fresh blueberry and a maple bacon. There was so much bacon bits, it was like eating a breakfast sandwich !
