Returned to an old fave (with my ?% favorite gal ❣️ after pandemic and other earth-shaking happenings... True comfort food - immediately familiar, and as good as ever - and comfortable, with the oldies I can discern even through the low roar of conversation - All this after more than a year away: Boom!Aaah! Now THAT'S what I call "Back to Normal"!

The quality has fallen off a cliff in the past couple years and now their kitchen is so poorly run they can't make a taco without beef.Beef is the first thing you put in a taco, just don't put it in if the guest is vegetarian or Hindu and fill it with the rest of the ingredients. The fact that the simplest substitutions are now verboten tells me the kitchen is poorly run and cooks aren't trainedEat at your own risk because food safety is one of the first things to go by the wayside when a kitchen suffers a brain drain.Vegetarian options: Limited vegetarian menu, no substitutions or removals on meat dishes, no vegan options (you could make dishes vegan before, but no substations rule means it's impossible now)Dietary restrictions: Limited vegetarian menu, no substitutions or removals on meat dishes, no vegan options (you could make dishes vegan before, but no substations rule means it's impossible now)

Food was good, staff were friendly and it was also very cheap ($105 for 7 people including appetizers and individual meals)

They expanded their menu a tad which is great. I'm still hoping to see fried catfish come back on the menu. Fajitas are great but the onions that come with them are top notch...you can ask for extra onion but they put it on the side so best to share. The wait staff is always polite and competent. I've been going here since it opened way back when. Get there early if you are going to dinner. Great place to bring kids because it's loud but not distractingly loud. I guess if your child has autism this might be a tough place to go, lots of movement and noise.

Ate at the bar. Drinks were good but the food was not. The queso dip was as loose as soup. My beef burro, which was my favorite in the past, was beyond spicy hot. It was hard to get down. The beans were like paste. The bartender was very nice but inattentive and never came over to see how the food was. When I mentioned it to her at the end, she told the manager who did nothing and never even came over. I won't be back any time soon. Too bad. Use to love it and it was previously consistently good. Not any more.

Border Café is more of a I haven’t been here in a while let’s give it a shot type of place. I enjoy going here from time to time food is decent but salty at times. My personal favorite is the chicken burro and a strawberry margarita! Drinks are never strong more flavor then punch.

We haven't been to the Border Cafe for many months, so we thought we'd try again. The last time we ate there, it was terrible, really bad. Surprise! This time the food was MUCH better. I got the steak fajitas and my wife got the enchiladas, both very good. The prices have gone up, but the quality was much better, so thumbs up. Also the 1800 margaritas were good. Our server was very attentive.

I've really missed this place since COVID. Combination of my reduction on visits to Boston and the Border's reduced hours. Really happy to be back.

Food arrive in 5 minutes therefore the food was pre-cooked. There are no difference between a taco and an Fajitas SAME?? Why?And what is a Burro? DONKEY?! A Burrito I presumeUsually Tacos meat is cut small and there is no bell pepper only in Fajitas and you have a choice between corn and flour tortillas.Guacamole needed more line and had no jalapeños so was the Pico and just little cilantro which is the base of Mexican cuisine.Meat from the Fajitas was missing the right seasoning such as cumin.Mexicans use pinto bean not black bean and refried rice had chili and Garlic!! Really!?This an indication that even if the cooks are not Mexican or trained properly in Mexican food.A few waiters or runners?? Wearing white coat are so dirty, why won't they wear just Mexican clothing even if there is the Texas flags everyone know that this were their heritage!Food was good but not real Mexican

Food was good and reasonably priced.. it was me and my 4 year old son.. I had finished my food, still had a half drink and my son still had food on his plate.. he needed to use the restroom so I took him, mind you out jackets were still on chairs (it was cold) I took him to the bathroom we were not even gone 3 minutes when the waitress comes running into the bathroom mind you when we returned to our table our jackets were already placed in lost and found and our table was cleared, we had not paid the bill yet either... the manager says "well the table next to you said you left" mind you I didn't know them and did not say bye to them.. he did nothing to make the situation better, I was profiled as someone that was going to run out in a 40 bill?? Or should I have sent my 4 year old to the bathroom by himself?? I was not gone for more than 3 minutes and the waitress found us in the bathroom AFTER clearing our table and trashing the rest of my son's food... i understand things happen but the management did nothing to rectify the situation and it was embarrassing.. my son was so upset because he didn't understand why his jacket was in the lost and found... and as a mother with a child watching I had to keep my composure... I was so disappointed because we were having such a good night before that.. 3 minutes??? I can understand if I was gone for 15 but our jackets were still on the seats where were we going in 30 degree weather with no coats on??? Such a bad experience
