We asked for a table for 6 out of the way to plan a cruise with friends. We sat in back and did our planning with no unwanted interference. Our waitress was great.. The food was excellent - much better than expected and I thought it was better than Po**aris in Woburn. This is a small, unassuming place but definitely worth a visit. I had the Chicken Parm and others had veal, seafood medley and another chicken dish. All of us were pleased with the meals, portions and price. 6 meals, 9 adult beverages, espresso / cappachino / coffee was just under $350 that included a 20% gratuity.

This was our first visit to Carmaleno's after hearing good things. We sat down and it took ten minutes for a waitress to come and take our drink order. The food was not very good, my wife got lemon chicken it had a pale appearance and tasted gamey and I got the chicken parmesan and it lacked flavor. We paid $4 extra for the homemade fusilli and it was tough. I would describe the staff as cordial but not overly friendly. The limoncello cake and the cappuccino was the highlight of the night. I would not recommend this place and will not return.

I ordered some food on my way home from my father house in saugus. I live in North Andover after driving all day long and working I didn't want to have to cook when I went home so I Figured I would try out a New Restaurant.When I got home I opened up my meal and noticed there was a piece of dark colored hair in it. I took pictures of it and immediately called the restaurant. I talked to a manager there on 6/2/23 at approximately 6:25 pm the manager stated that I could drive all the way back to return the food and they will refund me as they have a policy that doesn't allow them to refund the food apparently. Make no sense to me. I told them it will cost me more in gas just to bring the food back to get a refund for my 25 dollar meal. The manager told me she doesn't care and she's not refunding me my money. I'll most definitely never eat here again mainly based off them messing up my food and not refunding me. I told them i have pictures of the food. So it's okay I will just post them here for the whole world to see.Pretty aggravating on a Friday night to get hair in your food after a long week and then get told where not refunding your money on top of that. Like what the heck I already wasted my time ordering from them in the first place now I need to spend 25 in gas and 2 hours in traffic to return it. That seems a little unfair. I wouldn't suggest anyone eat here.

Food is excellent & the portions are great size to fill you up & take home for late night snack or lunch the next day. Staff is outstanding & the cook will make your meal the way you ask. Atmosphere is like the old fashioned North End restaurant family style. The bar is stock & the bartenders are great. When you want to go out and feel like your home this is the SPOT.
