i usually dont do reviews however i was a bit upset with this order not going to lie. I work in this mall so they usually don’t disappoint but today I was craving a cubano (really really good) but they didnt have cubano’s at 1 in the afternoon on tuesday? thought it was weird but decided to try something new which was this sandwich, which honestly only thing that was good was the pickles …. and was given TEN PIECES OF COLD FRIES (ate half the sandwich and 4 fries cause i was genuinely hungry and spent my last dollars on this meal…) lol. yes i counted cause i asked if the meal came with fries and she said yes. shame on the cook who actually served this. it was really disappointing.

Ordered two combos- the one I ordered with yucca fries came with plantains instead. Not good. Person who wanted yucca fries is allergic to plantains and could make them really sick. We also ordered rice with our combo and extra rice. The rice with our combo never arrived with the combo. The extra rice that I paid for was the only one in the bag. I just want my money back. Called at 7:55 pm. and nobody answered. They closed at 8 pm I am extremely disappointed. I’m giving them 3 stars because they’ve done some things right in the past. This one time was not okay, really should ask before substituting, if that’s what happened. Had to throw away the combo and find food somewhere else.

Went there for the first time last week.. the service was amazing. I asked the girl behind the counter what she recommended and got just that. Food was amazing. The chicken had so much flavor. Its was a decent portion but super filling so took the rest home. And I've been dying to go back since. The atmosphere is a food court so it is what it is.
ok it's a mall food court. I was really looking forward to this being great and it was just OK. I'm glad it's there, but a couple thoughts, I think with the fritura you need heat lamps to have any crispiness, tostones were terrible and again maybe that's my fault, who gets tostones in a food court they are meant to be eaten off a napkin on a plate where your abuela just pulled it out of the hot grease and she goes to hit you with the spatula for grabbing. Papa relleno was pretty good, again missing those heatlamps, went for some fricasse and it was really just a piece of chicken, no sauce dumped all over the rice. And if you don't heed the specials, you'll probably be spending a bit more money than you expected. Gonna bring my kids and try it again, I want this to be that secret little spot close to my house that I can go when I'm feeling down and definitely wish them success.

A hidden treasure that you need to find is located in the Saugus mall. It's nested quietly and humbly in the old food court ...palace once inhabited by various fast food franchises. It is now a haven and hor bed of fresh ethnic food from Cuban to African. El Guajiro is one of those little places you will fall in love with. We were there early at opening around 10 am , they were still preparing the day's dishes. The empanadas are wonderful as was the Cuban sandwich. Choose from and entree and various side dishes including the rice and beans, tostones, etc. The staff was warm and friendly and have the location a welcoming feeling that is becoming rarer in today's restaurants. Check it out you won't be disappointed.
