Favorite neighborhood spot with outdoor seating. Great food and beer, the mosiac marvel IPA is my favorite!

Lamb shepherd's pie, curried cauliflower, and beet goat cheese spread with a Czech-style Pilsner and a nice barbera. The shepherd's pie was superb!! Everything else was great too!

The posole, fried chicken and fried chicken sandwich are out of this world. We have ordered take out probably more than 10 times and we always happy with the quality and portions of the dishes. We definitely ordering from FAB for the Super Bowl. Their salad are very yumie and my kids love them.

Visited during COVID unaware it was more of a tappas / multi coarse sorta place. Anyways, it was the best lunch I've had in a long time and worth a visit even during COVID. The "chaos" beer was a bit expensive at $24 for a 4 pack, but it did not disappoint. Drank like a DIPA while clocking in at an impressive 13%! Juicy but balanced with a clean funky note as an aftertaste. It was not bitter nor was it thick like a barley wine. I suspect the drink-ability comes down to the yeast and the use of whole hops during fermentation. No corners cut. :) I would buy it again - not something I say often... actually ever say for 13% beers. The sandwich was excellent. Fresh and properly smoked meat with fat and all - something I haven't had the pleasure of tasting since I lived in NH! It was served on a sweet house made honey wheat bread - whiteish with a fine texture and just enough flavor to compliment the meat but not enough to overwhelm. The mustard and sour krout were both perfect. Portions were generous. Only criticism was that the warm bread wasn't toasted and fell apart after a bite or two. This could be solved with a more glutinous bread and/or toasting. Anyways, it's a good problem to have. :) Staff was welcoming, friendly, and passionate. When things reopen this will be excellent space for music! For now it's a series of high booths with some cool spray paint art. Some of the art it seemed half assed but I think it the intent was to divide things enough so people feel comfortable eating in. That they accomplished. Large booths, high ceilings, and no crowd make it a safe place to dine indoors for the cautious. Anyways, check these guys out! They are another Somerville gem that will open your eyes to the possibilities of well prepared food!

Can't recommend it -- Caesar salad was sad, pretzel bites were old, wings were very gummy and greasy -- nothing fresh about it.

The double IPA was awesome!

I went to FAB last night for the first time, and I didn't know what to expect since they only opened 2 weeks ago, but OH MY GOD! This place was outstanding! I tried their burger that debuted that day, and it is now one of my favorite burgers in Boston. They were very respectful/attentive regarding social distancing, and reducing touchpoints. I was unfortunately unable to drink their craft beer, but my friend really did. My friend was drinking their Pilsner 4 Peace. If I could give this business 10 stars I would. Go try them out before COVID is gone and you cant get in! I actually might go back tonight for another burger.

This was the second restaurant my husband and I tried since moving to Boston this week. I made the reservations a few weeks ago so we could try the Dine Out Menu. The restaurant seemed fancy from online, but in-person, it wasn't extravagant. They do take your coat and check it for you free of charge and have a private parking lot which is nice. Upon being seated we were kind of crammed right up next to two other tables which, was fine for us, but if you're looking to make personal conversation this wouldn't be the place to do it. We had to specifically ask for the Dine Out menu as well which felt a little shady, but they brought it over and we ordered different items so we could taste a variety of dishes. Bread: Local Iggy's bread was a seedy multigrain and super tasty. To accompany, Bergamont makes their butter in-house and tonight's was a smoked cheese butter. My husband loved and I thought it was smelly and not a flavor I would ever eat again. The couple next to us had the same thoughts as well. That being said the restaurant changes this so often and experiments with their butter which I think is pretty cool. So, kudos on trying something new. Appetizers: Kale Salad - very plain but had a good tart dressing. Beet Dish- with creme fraiche, frisee, dill, and an everything crisp on top. This was divine and that is coming from someone who doesn't love beets. Entrees: Bavette Steak- They didn't ask how we wanted this cooked so I wasn't sure what to expect. That being said, this was by far my favorite dish. It came with a light sauce, a few small pieces of cauliflower, and some delicious mushrooms that I could have eaten a whole bowl of. The steak had a really nice crunch on the outside too and was served medium-rare. Red Fish - Wasn't totally sure what this would be but the fish itself was good. That being said it had a black squid ink on the bottom of the plate that was SO SALTY and totally ruined the fish and veggies in my opinion, to the point of the dish being inedible. My husband ate it up because he doesn't like it when I complain at restaurants, but I would have sent it back if I wasn't with him. (Side note: the waitress asked us how we liked things after every dish except the entree, almost like she knew not to ask maybe because I heard other customers complaining about the fish too). Dessert: Sticky Rice Pudding - I personally thought this was so delicious. It was served with some cocoa rice puffs and an incredible passionfruit sauce. It had everything you could want for a dessert, texture, fat, tart, and sweet. It was very unique and very tasty. When we got the bill we were disappointed to see that the sparkling water they had offered us was $8. This wasn't even a name brand bottle, just one they reused at the restaurant. This felt super sneaky and when you are paying an arm and a leg at a restaurant, you shouldn't be expected to pay for water. In the end I would say, I am glad we came for the experience, but the impression and food wouldn't have me back for a second trip or have me recommending it to others either.

First thing first - food is solid 4-star! We came on the first day of Dine Out Boston 2020 and tried one from that menu and one from the regular 3-course menu. Some highly recommended dishes from my own perspective: The bread: from Iggy's, a very nice bakery in Cambridge, and paired with curry flavored butter, very special and tasty! Roasted beets (starter) Steak tartare (starter): fresh and tender The duck (entree, not the whole duck dish): very juicy and delicious Not-so-great dishes: Savenor's Bavette Steak (entree): mediocre, nothing amazing Hazelnut Dacquoise (dessert): interesting dessert, worth a try but not a fan Some sticky rice (dessert): kinda a boring dessert, looks ugly too :( Second, service. I won't say horrible but we def received less-than-ideal service. We were the first couple of guests upon their dinner opening hours. Our waiter didn't serve the restaurant-week menu at first and when I asked about it, he was like "Oh right it started today! Let me grab it for you." this is totally understandable. Then the same thing happened again to the couple seated next to us 10 min later with the same waiter. Apparently he only served that menu ON DEMAND. Now I see how it is and I don't like that :( I never visited a restaurant participating in restaurant week with a cheap attitude. That alone wouldn't make me upset enough. Our waiter was also so cold to us, literally, cold, almost rude. He didn't have the patience to answer our questions. He didn't even ask how well I want my steak! I don't get it - we were his first guests of the night, if he's losing steam at the beginning of the work, how's he gonna survive the whole night? He might be tired of serving 50 customers a day, but he's the only fancy restaurant waiter serving me in 50 days and he's the only measurement I have to judge this restaurant's service. And unfortunately, this didn't work so well. I think they put some of the boring stuff on the restaurant week menu to force you choose the more expensive options. I do feel they are not trying to keep the restaurant week menu guests (maybe the Groupon guests as well). If so, why bother? Why not just keep being fancy?

We came here for my birthday dinner and I wasn't as wowed as I had hoped to be. The dishes were mediocre, I honestly wasn't too impressed by taste or creativity. The service was kind and lovely. It felt like they aren't sure if they were going for more fine dining or playful atmosphere, as there were mixed aspects of both. I will echo other reviewers in saying that the meal took longer than I'd like, and I enjoy savoring my meals.

Mediocre meal. Great service (waitress was very patient, kind, and friendly). Food was overrated. Won't be back; unfortunately doesn't live up to the top restaurants in the area. Would give a 3.5 if it was possible.
