Every neighborhood should have a spot like HK, which has great food and cocktails in a lively and unfussy atmosphere. And the bar staff is aces! Just a great place to frequent.

Love this place. Great food. Great atmosphere. Great drinks. My gf and I tend to always get the same thing-Pan roasted chicken, and the jambalaya. Been favorites for years. Large selection of beers and cocktails. Highly recommend for anyone new to the area. It has a great "Somerville" vibe.

I think we found our favorite restaurant. I came here once before many moons ago, and don't quite remember what I had but it was crazy busy. Fast forward to this past month, we've popped in 2 x after an event we were doing. everything we've had so far was so delicious. Burgers, south west Salad with chicken, deviled eggs and for desert the brownie Sundae and peanut butter pie. We want to try everything on the menu- creative spin on classics. Thanks for making our bellies happy!

Believe it or not we were going to Sarma. Down the street. 3 mi. They were hosting a private event. Bonus we win. Brenda our waitress was outstanding, personable, quite helpful on what is good. Her recommendation were spot on! From the Pork Chili Verde, followed by, Spicy Jambalaya, & why not apple crisp . . . My friend got the warm banana bread pudding. All of the staff was fantastic. Topping off the water to being available in.a timely fashion. A++

Had the spicy jambalaya and the Nashville HOT chicken sandwich. I really enjoyed both. The hot chicken is pretty hot so do not order it unless you have a high spicy tolerance. Previous dinners here, I’ve gotten the Goat stew which is probably my favorite dish at Highland Kitchen.

The soup of the day was vegetarian too.Parking: There is limited street parking for non-residents on Highland avenue.

We did a birthday dinner here. The service at this establishment is remarkable. Our server was so much fun. The appetizers and food were a delight. Towards the end of the evening our server delighted my fiance by adding a little extra pep to her desert, and making her an elaborate coffee drink with whipped cream. We had a really wonderful time.

Main reason for a bad review is the place is all about first come first serve then they have limit on how much time you can spend which I believe is only 90 minutes. So if you are out with group of friends this may not be a place for you. We went out in a group then to be told you have to leave right after paying a large bill and hefty tip. Sadly this place will no longer be on my list for recommendations or visits.
