Old-school bakery as someone else stated. Bought a vanilla frosted cake for Easter, nothing special. The blueberry pie was very good and priced right. Give it 4 stars because it was very crowded and confusing.

here’s the deal on the half moons: they are great.About the size of a hockey puck, nearly half frosting by height, the portion size is probably for 2, but it’s for one if you’re feeling like eating as much as you possibly can.At first bite the cake might seem a little dry. But it’s actually that the crumb is very fine. Perhaps sandy, like a melt away cookie.It’s a lot of frosting. But in a great way. Maybe it’s for us corner-slice kids. It dares you: you couldn’t possibly eat something this sweet.It’s perfectly bingeable and indulgent. I couldn’t possibly eat another anytime soon (right?)

The single best donut in the greater Boston area. I’ve been trying every donut I can find and as a cake donut lover, this is the best. Perfectly dense, crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. The icing pairs perfectly with a not too sweet batter. The price for quality is incredible.They are famous as they should be for their cakes and half moons but please do not sleep on how amazing their donuts are.

Lyndells is a bakery from my childhood. It's been open fast longer than I have alive. I use to go in 1970's and to me delight, it is still open. The best thing there is the half moon everything's. They aren't like the traditional cookies. They are individual made fresh every day cake with chocolate and white frosting on white cake or chocolate cake. And every variety in between. They also make large cakes from same ingredients. They are soooo fresh. In close second is the apple pie. They might just have this around holidays. Idk. But it was amazing.Anytime I want delicious half moons and a bit of nostalgia, I head to this bakery. And for me, it's 40 mins away. But soon worth it.Parking: There is a lot behind the bakery but there are limited 3 or 4 spots.

My family has gone to Lyndell’s since the 1920s! It has always been the best bakery, despite the inevitable ownership changes over their 135+ year history. If you go, make sure you at least bring home some of their honey bread, macaroons (both white and chocolate), the half-moons, and eclairs.
