The coconut margaritas are delicious!!! We were greeted and sat right away however our server didn’t come over for 12-15 mins. She was very nice so we tried to give the benefit of doubt assuming she may be new or having an off day but the entire experience seemed incredibly slow and it took a while between courses for her to come back.Great margarita selections with fun infused tequila’s. My friend got the Watermelon Habanero Margarita and loved it. We tried the margarita flight which was also great. The blood orange margarita was a close second favorite although be ready for the kick it holds from the spicy tequila.Out of all the food we ate, the appetizers were our favorite. The street corn off the Cobb was absolutely out of this world! Very small portion but so decadent and will leave you wanting more.

Service was subpar...I had to actually walk up to the bar to get my drinks because I saw them sitting there. The restaurant wasn't busy either. And one of our meals were wrong but they fixed it. Definitely would not go back?

All in all, good food and experience. Think we caught it at a slow time or shift change, so service was a little inattentive, but the food did come out very fast and hot. Margarita flight was enjoyable and a good way to try a few of their drinks before committing to a full Margarita if you're unsure what you may like. If you want to watch any of the games, there are TVs everywhere.

I tried Papagayo for the first time mid-afternoon in which I was ony one of a handful of patrons being served--so they weren't busy. Service was poor, food was decent but a bit overpriced, and while I appreciate all the hardworking people who prepare my food at ANY restaurant , I think instead of tacking on "kitchen appreciation" fees, restaurants like Papagayo ought to pay their kitchen staff better and not expect customers to subsidize their labor costs. (For that matter, US restaurants in general should pay their servers better, rather than make them depend principally on tips.) My server was pleasant enough, but only asked if I wanted a glass of water, not if I wanted to order anything else to drink, nor made any attempts to refill my water glass when empty. (I did ask for a small slice of lime for the water and received it.) I still left a 17% tip, though when service is genuinely good, I never leave less than 20%. Can't help but compare the food and service at Papagayo to The Border Cafe for the exact same order; blackened chicken fajitas: while Papagayo's version was tasty,The Border serves twice as large portions-- especially the sizzling chicken and vegetables-AND provides complimentary chips and salsa--AND refills their large soft drink/iced tea items on an unlimited basis, always garnished with plenty of lemon and/or lime slices without asking and for the same money. Consequently, I have been The Border chain's patron for 36.5 years now; Papgayo was a one off. Customer business and loyalty is earned, not assumed, especially in these days of highly inflated restaurant prices.

Having never been to Papagayo, I wanted to give it a try prior to going to see a movie at the nearby theater. For starters, the atmosphere is very sports bar style, which is not what I was expecting, and to be honest, it was very underwhelming. There was one outstanding decor choice, which is a Marilyn Monroe style statue with dark hair instead of blonde hair. It was as if I walked into an Applebee's (or similar chain) but everything on the menu was Mexican food. For Saturday night this place was kind of dead...very few patrons in the restaurant. Quite frankly, the place left an energy or a vibe, but my friend made the reservation so we sat down and figured we'd give it a try. Ended up ordering appetizers and drinks. My virgin margarita was decent and my friend seemed to enjoy her cocktails. One of the girls ordered a flight in the presentation was cute. The guac, which we were told smashed to order was not prepared at the table, so we have no way to confirm this. It was pretty good though and our server even put jalapeños on the side so that we could make it as spicy as we wanted it. My one complaint about the guacamole is that for the price, it was too small. We ended up ordering a second one because one order is barely enough for two people and there were four of us. The queso was mediocre at best. It did not stand out, compared to other quesos that I've had at comparable restaurants. My friends seemed to enjoy the street corn, which is available on or off the cob. To be honest, based on overall experience, I'm not rushing back to this place. It strikes me as the type of restaurant that people who do not normally eat Mexican food would go to an enjoy because their expectations are low. It is however convenient if you're going to be in the area. However, there are several other restaurants right in the shopping area that serve superior food and have much better dining experiences. This place needs to work on its atmosphere.

I can say food was good. At least not salty. Ordered drinks. My margarita was a glass full of ice with probably an 1 oz or maybe 1.5 oz of watered down margarita. The price was a lot more reasonable compared to where I am from - NY/Nj, $13. But I basically payed for a glass of ice!!!!! And drinks came at the end of our meals!! Not planning to go back!!

Cauliflower tacos are delicious but bit pricey or adding another extra taco would justify the price! Enchiladas were delicious, I am usually not a big fan but liked the taste here.

The food here is decent I was expecting a better guac and chips that should be the basis to judge a Mexican restaurant..the margaritas over here are good… the pitcher concept for Margarita with flights is similar to beer but for margaritas…it has a lot of space and not much crowded also one main this is there is network issues near this restaurant!!!

Prices are high but expected for the area. let me just say they have THE BEST street corn dip I've ever tasted. We ordered 2 more after the first round because of how delicious it was. Been to Mexico and absolutely LOVE Mexican food..... this is by far the best tasting and flavorful one we have tasted. (Wish we got a picture but we devoured it.)
