Food was fine, and they were out of a lot of things on the menu. The laid back diner atmosphere was nice enough but I'm not planning to go

Place has really gone downhill. Food mediocre; owner hostile. Substantial price increase still not reflected on their menus (after over 6 months).

Just a warning, all of the main items we ordered were $3.50 more expensive than listed on the menu we received. Owner said she hasn’t had time to update the prices (although I see a review from 5 months ago saying the same thing). Nothing wrong with a price increase, but shouldn’t they at least inform customers beforehand? Nothing was said until we asked about the bill, and she seemed annoyed that I even asked. They had run out of a few options - food was just average, but the server was nice. Unfortunately the owner at the counter gave the place a hostile feeling.

Wait staff is wonderful but management needs to be better. We couldn't get half the menu, which is not that big, because they ran out of food. You can't get breakfast without eggs, beacon, pancake mix, hash, smoked salmon, apples... The hours are also unreliable and not posted anywhere.

You always see a long line outside of RC's and for good reason. The food is top notch and super cheap. The real highlight is the portions though. They pile the food full plate and mile high. If you ever are super hungry please come here and you will be wildly satiated. This is what breakfast places dream of being when they grow up.

This place was good. We had breakfast here. I didn't take pictures but it was egg and bacon strips, orange juice not fresh probably minute maid brand

The coffee is strong (thank you) and the eggs are fresh. Tables are well spaced. There are window seats on both sections of the restaurant. There are vegan choices. It’s a nice place for friends and family to meet.

My favorite breakfast place in greater Boston. Delicious food and great service.

I have mixed feelings about this place. I want to appreciate the local vibe, but my expectations get ruined every so often. First, their working hours are really random. Sometimes they just don't open, sometimes they close early. Service is weird. You come in to 'wait to be seated' and you awkwardly stand there for ages without anyone paying attention or acknowledging. Their personnel are nice when they serve you, but they run all over the place, not sure if they are overwhelmed or just badly organized. Kitchen constantly runs out of main ingredients - 9 times out of 10 they won't have 'bennies', beef hash or salmon. Food itself is decent but doesn't seem consistent. The overall interior seems very tired, not clean, cold/wet in the winter and not cozy at all. I wish this local business the best, but it looks like their best times are in the past.

My favorite breakfast place. The staff is friendly and the food is delicious. Don't miss the waffle with apples! I get mine without the whipped cream and with the maple syrup. A perfect breakfast!

I used to live near Davis Square and I was a regular at Renee's. I can not speak high enough of their service, food and overall atmosphere. Every person that visited me, I brought to Renee's, and every guest fell in love with it like I did. I have since moved away, but was back in Boston for a wedding. I went well out of my way after a red eye flight from the west coast so I could have my favorite breakfast at Renee's. After taking public transit and dragging my suitcase through Davis, I got to Renee's. Unfortunately, when I arrived, they weren't open. Their hours say they are open at 6:30am and I got there at about 7:15am. I waited around for about 15 minutes before having to give up. To say I was devastated was an understatement. There were no hours posted on their door (just online) and when I tried to call to see if maybe their answering machine gave them, the number was disconnected. Not sure if they are closed (I hope not!!) or maybe just had a late start, but it really ruined the incredible memories I had of this place. I understand things are tough during COVID, but if you have hours posted online, they really should be followed. Hopefully they can either update their hours or at least post on their social media if they are opening late. Most of all, I hope they aren't permanently closed, because as upset as I am with this experience I really love this hidden gem and the incredible food they serve.

There's a lot to love about this local joint. The have the biggest pancakes I have ever seen and they're quite good. The French toast is also excellent.Service is always friendly and attentive. A neighborhood gem.

This restaurant seriously needs to update their communication - there is no sign indicating that it is cash only (even though they have the credit card stickers on their door). We had to walk to an ATM down the road to pay. What’s more, the prices on the menu are false advertising with the eggs Benedict listed as $8.75 but we were charged $12.95 on the bill and told “the prices changed but management has not updated the menu.” The food was okay - worth the low price on the menu, but not the updated price on the bill. Coffee had grounds in it. The only redeeming factor was that our server was very nice.

Waiting outside this mom and pop which claims to open at 6:30. No lights on, no here. First and LAST time. I have a very public voice in Cambridge and Somerville and will be telling this story. Don't advertise what u wont provide!

No frills place for breakfast, I've skimmed the reviews, and before you do the same - don't listen to the haters and just listen to your stomach. Nitty gritty: this is a cash only place (they do Venmo), and especially now during COVID, they are just trying to get by - they might not have all the things available all the time (like jam packets for example, and no takeout containers - we got some aluminum foil to wrap up our leftovers to go) - but that's OK. The food is amazing! Classic comfort breakfast food. Fluffy perfectly cooked omelettes, delicious eggs + toast + bacon + sausage, and incredible pancakes! Some of the best pancakes I have had, they are huge, cooked to perfection, and for the blueberry ones - they are absolutely loaded up with berries! Truly made with love.
