Miso soup was watery - not a good idea to serve this as a first dish and underperform. Agedashi tofu sauce was too starchy - not what I normally eat. The soba was average, but the yakitori don was good. At this price point, I would not travel specially to try this but might eat it if nearby.

This restaurant offers various dishes including Soba! Because I haven’t eaten soba for a while, I appreciate this restaurant to eat soba, which you can order hot or cold one. Of course, the restaurant can offer Japanese famous dishes such as sashimi, takoyaki and donburi. In addition, the atmosphere of this restaurant is so great that we spent wonderful hours to chat with my friends! Lastly, it is somewhat easier to order food because staff keep taking care of ourselves.

A wonderful surprise! The Alligator roll was delicious with crispy tempura shrimp on the inside and eel/caviar on the outside. Service is efficient so you will b in and out quickly. There is plenty to eat for non sushi diners too. Fries dumplings are wonderfully crisp and yakitori meats are nicely seasoned.

Soba has been on my food bucket list and I think this spot gave a very authentic soba experience. The food was all very refreshing and pleasant to eat, which is probably the main draw of soba. The mild flavors mean you can effortlessly finish the large portion of noodles and tempura in the meal set without the typical fatigue you get from a large bowl of noodles and plate of fried foods. All the fried foods we got were cooked to crispy perfection and were definitely my favorite bites. Ultimately though I just think I’m not the biggest fan of soba. I don’t imagine myself craving soba but I would be open to trying different styles of it if given the chance. Thank you to Sugidama for a great meal regardless.

Good decent Japanese cuisine near Boston area. Anyone can enjoy large selection of Japanese dishes with reasonable price. They recently (half year ago) moved and renovated to main street with larger space. i went to Sugidama multiple times before and after they moved. Everything was above average every visit, but not the best quality.I can recommend any menu from roll, sushi, yakitori to don (protein over rice). All will be satisfied. Service is not great, but good enough. This is a bit noisy place where you can enjoy drinks with small to large portion of food with your friends.

Came in for lunch earlier this afternoon and was pleasantly surprised by the interior decor and overall ambiance of the place. Food is really great - taste and quality wise, however, I recommend the traditional Japanese food such as soba and yakitori over the sushi dishes. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 stars is mainly due to service - the server did not know how to table manage and brought out main dishes before our appetizers were finished making the overall experience very rushed and stressful. As a customer, I don’t feel like I should have to hold dishes in my hand and be told to make space on the table for other dishes - if the restaurant can improve upon pacing and overall service it would make for a lot more pleasurable dining experience :)
