Delicious tenders and wings

Adrianna Alpaugh

Really disappointed. The wings were extremely over done underneath the sauce. We ordered 24 wings and a large salad, we were given 2 extremely small ranch dressings ( I even specified to please provide extra ranch) but 1 of the dressings wasn’t even enough for the salad, let alone the 24 wings. I will say the sauces were very good, we got golden bbq and buffalo it was just very unfortunate that the wings themselves were barely edible.

Dining area felt nice and cozy. The owner is very charismatic and ensures that the patrons are happy with their meal. Food is well-priced, portions are great, and the service was quick. Amazing restaurant.

Dining method: Dine-inItem(s) ordered: Egg Bara, Jeera Aloo, Shahi Paneer Masala, Navaratna Korma (I think!)Value: Very fair pricingSpeed: Food came out quite quickly, we were not waiting for long! The Review: I am so grateful to have the quality and flavor that Himalayan Kitchen serves up in their small, humble space. This was my first time, and I was very impressed. The food was fantastic and flavorful. The staff were kind, welcoming, and were very accommodating for dietary needs. There were a mountain (pun intended) of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options. I used the lentil-based Bara almost as a gluten-free naan option. So, so good. I shall be dreaming of this meal for a while. At the end, they gave us some rice pudding to try, which was such a treat. My only complaint is that it wasn't really spicy enough, as I was definitely profiled by the staff ;) To be fair, I imagine they were trying to save me...all in good faith--I just have to ask for spice next time.

We stopped by on a recent trip to boston and were very impressed with the food.We ordered mostly off the Himalayan menu except for a chicken tikka masala for the kids. The steamed chicken momos were delicious and the jhol and c momos were a treat - as they are incredibly hard to find on the menu where we live. Size wise, they were a little smaller than what we are used to but still very authentic in look and flavor. Our kids loved the chicken tikka masala and gave it two thumbs up. Jay, the owner, was super friendly and we loved that it was a family run joint. I wish we could bottle this up and bring this restaurant to our little NY suburb. Highly recommend!

To go for work lunch - place a relatively large order and was ready in about 45min.I got the chicken biryani and I was surprised by how large the pieces of chicken were. Definitely some of the best biryani I've had in the area. My coworkers also ordered some momos to share which were perfect. Everyone's dish looked great. This was my first time but my coworkers spoke to the owners warm nature and various positive anecdotes. Would love to dine in sometime soon.

Right from the jump, Jay welcomed is to the neighborhood. He was so friendly. So we go home and tuck in to our food ... And I'm not kidding it is the best set of wings I've ever had. Crispy, juicy, flavorful. Outstanding. The lemon pepper was an out of body experience. Great service, bomb food. 100% recommended.

My partner and I stopped by here for dinner at about 7pm on a Saturday. The place was pretty packed with some people waiting outside to get seated. Fortunately, we were seated within 10 minutes, and the owner even apologized to us, explaining that they were short-staffed that night. We ordered mango lassi, dirty mango lassi, garlic naan, Chicken Makhani, and Lamb curry. The mango lassi was delicious. There was a strong taste of sweet mango throughout the drink - one of the best I have had. The dirty mango lassi was pretty in the presentation and was alright overall. It felt underwhelming after tasting the regular mango lassi with a thinner consistency. If you like a hint of coconut mixed with mango though, you will enjoy the dirty mango lassi. The garlic naan tasted pretty good though I wish it was slightly fluffier. The chicken makhani tasted fine but could use more flavoring. I was surprised that the server did not ask for our preferred spice level when taking our order. Both curries could have used some spice to give a kick as they seemed a bit bland. I did appreciate the large chunks of meat present in both curries. This is one of the most generous spots I have seen. Everything is served in disposable containers, which makes it easy to pack up for leftovers to bring back. The owner was also really generous and gave us a free rice pudding to-go for dessert! Overall, the ambiance of this place was really nice, and the owner is really sweet, so I recommend coming here to support your local businesses! Next time, I will come back and try other items on their menu.

We walked in and the restaurant was packed, which is a good sign in my opinion. We're introverts though and prefer to eat at home, so we ordered take out.J (the owner) took our order and knew the menu inside out. They were running a fundraiser and were out of Bara, so I asked what he would recommend to order instead. He suggested the Chicken Madras, and it was delicious. Tender chicken with fresh tamarind sauce and rice. I also got garlic naan which had a truly strong garlic flavor, I enjoyed it a lot and would get these again. We also ordered steamed chicken Mo Mo, which came with a mild/medium spicy dipping sauce. The dough was soft and filled with well seasoned meat, I look forward to trying the other variations. -and-The [mixed] chow mein had many layers of flavor, the eggs were both fluffy and fried, and I could taste curry in it which was unique to my chow mein experiences in other restaurants. It was packed with chicken and veggies, definitely worth the extra few bucks.-and-The Aloo Dum was full of spices, the potatoes melted in my mouth. The seasoned paste was thick and garlicky, I was dipping my naan in the leftovers!J was really nice, he gifted us some rice pudding made by his wife, which made our night. Thank you J :)This restaurant is my new favorite

Our first time here did not disappoint! The entire staff was very friendly and helpful. Jay, the owner introduced himself and gave us amazing recommendations. His wife is the chef!My favorite thing we ordered was the butter chicken! It was very sweet and rich and DELICIOUS! It's the only thing I didn't get a picture of because I was just too excited to eat it haha.Awesome place in Somerville and we will definitely be back soon to try more curry. The pizza was so fun and we really enjoyed it! Seems like most people order take out and that's what they get!

My coworker recommended this restaurant as it had good reviews and was conveniently located to meet up with another coworker from our company. It's located next to a child care school in a weird intersection on Bow St in Somerville. There's paid street parking around the area but may be difficult to find especially during lunch and dinner rushes. My group and I ordered steamed Chicken Mo Mo and the Beef Chilli to share. The chicken mo mo was soooo good. Unliked Chinese XLB, there was a lot of spices and flavors in the mo mo. Delicious! The beef chilli was also really good but also incredibly spicy LOL. Tons of different spices marinated with the beef, bringing out a flavor blast in my mouth. I wanted to keep eating but the spiciness kept killing me. I ordered the lunch special Chicken Tikka Masala. It came out in a plastic take out container (all the other foods were like that too) and there was only a small portion of the tikka masala which threw me off. BUT the portion didn't matter as there was a lot of meat and the curry, omg. Very thick and sooo full of flavor. I've never had tikka masala that was this thick! Delicious! A hidden hole-in-the-wall gem that deserves a little more credit. The quality and the flavor profile of the foods were really good! Definitely would love to come back in the future.

I ordered from Himalayan Kitchen through the Too Good To Go app. For $5, you get a surprise bag with some of the restaurant's leftover food at the end of the day. I was really excited to try this spot, as I've passed by many times before, but never actually went in.The restaurant itself was really cute and definitely would be a nice sit down spot for a nice evening out. The staff was really nice and even offered me water, even though I was just there to pick up my surprise bag. I met Jeff, who I believe was an owner, and he was kind enough to throw in his wife's rice pudding, which was absolutely delicious. For the actual entreé, they gave me a curry (I believe lentil) with basmati rice. Considering I didn't know what I was getting, I was very happy with the outcome! I will have to come back to try the momos.

I went out to Boston from Texas and stopped by this restaurant because my girlfriend waned some wings to eat. So we decided we would take a chance on this place and stopped by. Well it turns out that they have the best wings me and her have ever had, and with that being said I noticed that the food they serve in general is very fresh and very good quality food. If I ever go back to Boston this place will be the first stop I make. I also recommend the chicken teriyaki.
