I have been to other Legal Seafood locations in the past and always satisfied. This one is in the Seaport District right on the harbor. The environment is casual; however, the fish is luxurious. I had the classic New England Baked Haddock - Anna's Way. It was fresh, delicious and a very generous portion at a very reasonable price. The Bang Bang Cauliflower appetizer was surprisingly tasty with a kick. The restaurant was crowded and we elected to sit at the bar rather than wait for a table. While the service was very good, the space was quite cramped, a bit uncomfortable and a little bit awkward to easily have a conversation with my two colleagues. If you want to have a conversation, wait for a table or reserve one.

Disappointing. The three people manning the reception desk were ornery and overwhelmed. Our scallops were over fried. The French fries were barely cooked and the lobster roll meat was almost raw and inedible. The waitress was pleasant and efficient. No need to return. Bleh.

We stopped here with friends for drinks and apps. Great food, great service and a great view. A great time was had by all.

Asked for the freshest thing on the menu and I got it. Classic fish and chips brought in this morning right from boat to restaurant. Meal was tasty but the fries were average. Well, I could have had better out of my air fryer at home. No body and little taste. Good coleslaw. I sat at the bar and was disappointed with the service and lack of attention given to bar patrons. Waited 10 minutes for a refill. I LOVE to tip for good service but today I struggled to justify 15%.

Drinks were amazing (cider and spice mule) and the appetizer (crab cake) were top notch!!! The Boston crème pie was also fantastic. We were disappointed in the lobster Mac n cheese, we specifically asked if it was the whole lobster in there and we were told yes, however it seemed like it was only half of the lobster, and at the price point, that was disappointing. I still would go back I just wouldn’t recommend that dish

We first went to Legal Seafoods many years ago on a trip to Boston and I am pleased to say it is just as good as I remembered!

When you can't make up your mind, get the combo. I don't get to Boston often but this is required eating when I do. The food is beyond excellent and the staff are amazing .

Being from the Southeastern part of the country I must say if this chain of restaurants you’ve missed a treat. Enough portions on the plate assembled in a great presentation ready to eat fashion. I had oysters on the half shell one night, fried haddock another night and lobster on a third night. All three nights I had New England clam chowder. This restaurant ranks up there with fantastic.

Delicious food and great service staff. But they don’t have Apple Pay, you must have the physical credit card with you! I was kinda embarrassed! But the manager made it work for me! Thx!

Started off with a drink at the rooftop, which was really nice. Then went down and had one main course each, where the lobster Mac and cheese was amazing. Served in a lobster shell! Would definitely go back!

Great service from Derek, super nice gentleman seated us, sat outside on a warm evening with lovely view and the food was wonderful. Highly recommend!

The food and desserts were delicious with very generous portions!…but…no decaf. Coffee?! The lobster and sea bass were excellent! You choose 2 generous side dishes, and not the usual single side of cheap rice!

I dine in Legal often yet rarely at their harbor side location. Had lunch there today and thoroughly disappointed. To begin with we wanted to get a crab cake sandwich instead of sliders. I literally have had this made for me twice in the last week since not technically on their menu. I asked them to just take the crab cake meal and throw it on a bun with fries like any other sandwich. The waiter had an issue but the sandwich came out on a plate by itself. Seriously, how hard is it to throw some fries on a plate. During this time they decided to open the door right at our table to be able to serve outside. Mind you it was only 59° at the time and we were wind blown when the door opened. Since we were sitting at a nice window table and there were 4 other empty ones we asked to move yet were placed at a table for 6 in the center even though only 3 of us so a bit awkward. When I asked for the manager she was not only unpleasant and made us feel like we were somehow wrong for asking, but seemed to be bothered and asked what we wanted. I said some fries might be nice. They were brought over. Bottom line, they are in the service business and there was certainly none today by the server or the manager. Since my son is the GM of a major steakhouse and was with us he was shocked at the treatment. That being said, the chowder was good, but the crab cake just so so. They really need to step it up at this Legal.

Having never had a Lobster roll this place was the best!!! Lobster rolls don’t exist in Montana. Clam chowder was amazing too. We loved our waitress sooooo friendly. We had such a great time here with our friends. Will definitely be back if my travels ever lead me back to Boston I came the following day for the Salmon BLT. It wasn’t bad. But I think I prefer smoked trout from home :)

We had a great dinner our first night in Boston at Legal seafood, I had the shrimp scallop and crab cakes is was wonderful. Loved sitting outside at the harbor. The only issue was for some reason our chowder was served seconds before our entrees.
