Stopped for breakfast on a recent summer morning. If Granny's were in a major city, the line would be out the door. Here in Springfield there's little to no wait for Sonya & Todd's delicious treats. My husband had a couple Quiche, so got some protein. I was lucky enough to get the last Kouign Amann (If you've never had one, you have to taste this melt-in-your mouth delight) and an almond bear claw. (No grill.) Poured over coffee is very good.

For those who miss the late lamented Henion Bakery in Amherst, this may be the place. Classic French technique meets Black and Southern American influences. The caramel apple tea cake was amazing: a not-too-sweet, buttery cake with rich caramel garnish. Good music, too, last time I was there!

Excellent beignet. We took a trip from CT to Springfield, MA (only about 8 miles) to visit Granny's after searching for beignet online and then finding out about Granny's. The beignet were very good, we finished them all. We went into the shop on a Saturday morning and found a steady stream of customers. The woman behind me told me that she had tried the beignet last week and as a result she came back this week and bought 4 more pastries of different varieties. Granny's is only open a partial day on Saturday, until noon, and they only serve beignet on Fridays and Saturdays. Beignets are made to order and they are well worth the visit. When you can't visit the Cafe du Monde in New Orleans, Granny's is the best place to go. Check out their website, you won't be disappointed.

Always look for local baker and this is what I found. Friendly, happy and pastries SO good! Order the beignets- worth the trip in itself.

Delicious pastries thoughtfully made great staff warm welcoming. High-quality, made in house in front of you. Don't miss the beignets.

The Desserts are Down Home Good Try them all! My wife is addicted to the Tea Cookies she says they're perfect with a cup of Earl Gray or Lapsang Tea. I was impressed with the sandwiches. I sampled the OH Lawdy Fried Chicken Sandwich, The Not Too Fancy Pulled Pork and the Goodness Gracious Ham Sandwich The Ham sandwich melted in my mouth, the chicken fresh, well worth the money they were not your cheesy pre frozen strips, the pimento cheese with spicy peach jam made my taste buds want more. The pulled pork was ok nice soft but I'm not a big fan of too sweet barbecue sauce. The biscuits were in a scale from 1 to 10 an 8 the tops were too much bread. Loved the décor. We don't have Many Restaurants Like This So Let's Support Good Fresh Cooking

What a charming find in the heart of Springfield. Great home made pastries and freshly ground/brewed coffee. Scones, cakes, pies and beignets all made on the premises.

I have lived all over the country and wherever I live, my first goal is always to hunt down the best bakery in town. What can I say - I can't live without delicious pastries. Well, I recently moved here and found my bakery here at Granny's! I tried the bread pudding, the kouigh amman, the banana caramel pie and it was all just so so so good. Fresh, buttery, flavorful, everything I want in a baked good. I also met Todd, the co-owner and baker, on my last visit and he was very friendly and sweet. I'll be back regularly!

Completely unassuming storefront in downtown Springfield but the staff were super friendly. Felt very comfortable here. The atmosphere is simple with a single very large table where you can sit, along with other patrons. So not a place if you are looking for intimate surroundings (we weren't). The coffee was excellent and very reasonably priced. They made custom drip pours for each cup! The croissants were perfect - flaky and flavorful. My wife liked this place so much that she came back here for lunch (I was over at the Basketball Hall of Fame at the time so she was on her own). She had a sandwich called the "Goodness Gracious" and really liked it. Definitely a worthwhile place.

I've tasted from bakeries far and wide from NYC to Italy and nothing beats Granny's Baking Table. Put it on your bucket list. Seriously. I've never tasted anything close to the perfection and bliss of this place. A lovely, quaint, hidden gem. Support local business. Get here and spread the word!

Can't believe I haven't rated Granny's yet! This has been a staple weekend or summer breakfast pickup spot for me for a year and half ish. They opened right around when Covid came in full swing and I'm so glad they've continued to thrive and stay open! Their food is delicious, all homemade baked goods, and the staff even nicer. Love it here and I always have something different! Nothing disappoints

I wanted to like Granny's more than I did. I'm excited to support a new business and wish them the best. I got a cold brew which was decent. Daughter got sweet tea and hubby got a pour over. The food was what was a little disappointing. We were hoping for beignets as they advertise them on their site and the sign, but they only make them Fri & Saturdays. So my daughter got a blueberry muffin but it was somewhat bland, not even many blueberries. The thing I loved the most was the coconut macaroon.
