It was fantastic!Food: Delicious. The portion sizes are much bigger than many Portuguese dishes.Tables were roomy. Not a small two top chess size table but a reasonable sized four top for two peopleService was good. There was parking in back and the restaurant had nice decor and wasn’t too loud.

Used Google Maps to direct us to this great Portuguese restaurant in the Taunton, MA area...we were looking for fresh seafood and were not disappointed. The Boston Scrod was delicious and perfectly cooked. Our server was friendly, informative and a joy!

My wife had the Portuguese steak, very good meal. I had the grilled octopus ??. Cappuccino and strawberry shortcake for dessert, yummy! We found the atmosphere romantic for our valentines weekend date. The restaurant is very clean and comfortable. The owner came around to chat and check on the patrons. She was very pleasant and involved. I’m looking forward to going back and would definitely recommend The Pearl

I went with 3 more people .The food l had was good.camarăo a Mochambique.and my husbandhad polvo ...was good and everything was going good till l asked for more bread .and the waitress come and said the first basket of bread is free but the second basket you have to pay for it....l think it was very rude andinappropriate since l was not asking for anything free l just Wana more bread because the first was 1 slice to each of us....and when the polvo and Camarāo come on.I Wana bread to dunk-in the gravy.but she give us a lesson about how the restaurant needs to charge for the bread and how the waitresses get paid very little.. ....anyway very unprofessional.

The morning before Christmas I placed a phone order at The Pearl in Taunton, MA for 2 quarts of Portuguese kale soup. When I opened it at home I was shocked to find mostly broth, kale, cabbage and a few beans but NO CHORIZO OR LINGUICA!!I immediately called to let them know. The hostess was polite but told me in a matter of fact tone that they often "run out of stuff" (yes, she said "stuff") and so the soup might be missing some "stuff". So then I asked her why I was paying $26 for broth!!! Her response was as if this is something that I should have expected. When I called to place the order, no one informed me that the soup would be so sparse but I would be paying the same price anyway. The expensive broth was rather tasty, but if I had been told that the soup was a skeleton of the original recipe, I would have ordered something else. I feel duped and I feel like I was made to purchase the soup base at full price to help them clean out their kitchen. I thanked the hostess and hung up feeling stunned at the sheer level of ignorance - not just the woman who answered the phone, but the kitchen help that poured the soup into the container to begin with not caring that there was really nothing in it. If that is that's how they treat customers I won't be going back.Basically, I paid $26 for flavored water and a few beans and kale!!!That white chunk you see in the picture is a chunk of cabbage.Pitiful.Also, they give you the soup in the cardboard container not a plastic one. I don't know how long those last in the refrigerator but I switched mine into a food container to be on the safe side because the cardboard container was getting a little soggy. All in all it was a lousy experience but I gave them two stars because the broth BASE was tasty. But that is the only reason. I will not be back to be ripped off a 2nd time.Parking: There are four of five slots in front of the building on the street but you would be lucky to get one of those. Normally you will have to park in an empty parking lot across the street.Overall it was not a fun experience.

If you're looking for good Portuguese food, this is it ? they also have things on the menu if someone in your party doesn't love Portuguese flare. The fries are fantastic. The atmosphere is very cozy and well decorated. @amp_eats (instagram and Facebook)

This place is a hit or miss. I've had a really good experience and then I've had less than a great experience. The sauces and flavors were delicious but the steak was all fat. Definitely worth a try and see for yourself. Just wish it was more of consistent experience each time.
