Great little place with great soft serve ice cream! Many flavors to choose from if you like regular (hard) ice cream. Smoothies are terrific also. High School kids run it and do a great job! Who doesn't like ice cream???

Stopped here for a sweet treat on the way home last night. Honestly this would have been a four star review because the flavors of the ice cream (esp. the black raspberry) that we ordered were really good. However, the extremely grumpy, clueless, and unhelpful young man working ruined the whole experience. The main issue, before we get to customer service, is that their cases weren't cold enough (and this is on an evening of freezing cold rain so don't even try blaming the weather). Our daughter's chocolate cone was so soft that the M&M toppings could barely hang on. But the real kicker was that when one of us ordered heath bar on a cone, it was so completely and totally melted that the scoop was sliding down the hand. And what did Mr. Customer Service at the counter do? Offer another one? Offer it on the house? Offer a different flavor? APOLOGIZE?? None of the above! He just stood there. And then after a moment passed over a cup, so we had to put the whole melty mess in, and then he rang us up. Just....WOW! We will definitely not be returning. You'd think with it being dead on a cold night in the off-season that you'd get better service/product, but not at Bernie's! There are better places on the Vineyard to get an ice cream rather than support this lousy business.

I just got charged $12 for 2 scoops of melted ice cream. Not even a large selection of flavors. Asked for it in a cone and he slipped melted ice cream on the top. Didn’t even bother to fill the cone

We have purchased ice cream at Bernie's for a few years, but the name on the roof of the store is now, Delicious MV, French Bakery Cafe. The entry is a bit confusing. You enter through the bakery on the right and then go into the ice cream parlor. Exit from the parlor. We were a group of seven ranging over many years of age. Everyone selected a different flavor and topping, but everyone loved their ice cream. The staff were polite and engaging. Prices are typical for Vineyard Haven.

Not a great experience for us. Went in to ask what could be gluten free or if we could see ingredients and they weren’t able to do that. The staff was not helpful and clueless when it came to allergies. I think some general knowledge could have been helpful so my 6 year old wasn’t let down. We ended up walking out of there and down the street where they were so helpful and my son was happy! Won’t return here!!!

Little confused by all the amazing reviews. I understand that you are a captive audience on this island but the chocolate ice cream was more like ice milk with a little chocolate. I asked for one scoop and got 4 and was charged for it. Even though ice cream was soft, it snapped my spoon in half. I was laughing so hard at how ridiculous I looked eating my melty ice cream with 1/2 a spoon.
