The ribs and brisket were moist, tender and juicy. Subtle smokiness and the traditional sauce was very good. Cornbread was delish, just wish I had a bigger piece. Some of the freshest, crunchiest vinegar slaw I ever had. Chicken tenders were humongous and perfectly fried. Dipped in the container of sauce was perfection. Takeout only. This place is a hidden gem in Wakefield- who knew!

Very good ribs! Not too dry or too wet. Just right!

One word. Amazing. I took some friends from church and we had a great time with the staff. Small place with big appeal.

Staff was great and fun! I love BBQ (I travel to TX to get it!) This place will save me from having to travel so far! I got the 1lb brisket, baked beans, coleslaw (both), fries and had some grilled corn and mashed potatoes. The brisket was delicious! I got a sample while I waited for my order… so good! I got a nice fatty piece of meat and it melted in my mouth! So good! The beans were good. I love BB, it did need some BBQ sauce (I’m a fan of the southern way) but it tasted great with or without it. They have three different types of BBQ sauce; regular, honey or spicy… they were all good but personally I like the honey as it had a little kick to it. The coleslaw was like any other place. The cornbread was tasty and had great flavor. The mashed potatoes had a good taste to them, wasn’t my fave but the fries were and they were nice and crispy. I’m picky about fries and these came out great! The Mac and cheese had a nice flavor, it’s made to order so it wasn’t baked like most BBQ places. But with a little BBQ sauce… delicious! This place os definitely worth if you are in the mood for BBQ! There is no dining in, so be prepared to eat in the car!

I would give it 6 stars if I could! Absolutely love this restaurant. My husband and I hosted a big family party, and Pit Stop catered it for us. We had nearly 100 guests, and EVERY one asked where we had ordered the food from, they loved it.Rosti and his team made everything so easy. They were extremely helpful, worked with our budget, delivered on time. And of course the BBQ was delicious. It always is! My husband and I will drive the 20 mins out of our way, just to grab takeout from this spot. It is totally worth it.

Ordered pulled pork, brisket and a full rack of ribs. I think this place has gone downhill. The pulled pork and brisket were OK, but the ribs were totally burned. I have not had such bad smoked ribs until now. No longer worth the drive. Time to look for a new place.

Seriously, you won't find better smoked BBQ food around. Amazing people, amazing food, worth every penny and then some. Also very dog friendly. You won't go wrong picking this spot

We've been to Pit Stop a couple of times, mostly when our local place has been closed. We've always enjoyed it. But this time was very disappointing. I got ribs and they were incredibly overcooked and dry. I'm a big rib aficionado and know that you can cook them safely and they can still be moist. These were not. Not by a mile. I'm willing to give the place one more shot. But if this their new method, then they don't know what they're doing and I'll go to Blue Ribbon. Or I'll make them myself.

Terrific meal. The ribs were perfect and the pulled pork was equally as good. Really enjoyed and will go back.

Came in for the first time today with my husband. The food was absolutely delicious! Killer pulled pork, brisket and Mac and cheese. Best we’ve had anywhere.

Absolute greatness right here! I'm not from the area and sorta glad I'm not, this place would take all my money! Seriously, some of the best barbecue in the area period. Do yourself a favor and place an order here.

My wife is from the south and we struggle to find good BBQ in New England. Some locals suggested Pit Stop so we took a drive and gave it a try. I don’t quite understand the high rating. Both of us found the meat dry, under seasoned, and had a very overpowering charcoal-like flavor. When we make our own ribs or brisket they get a generous rub and basting of sauce and are fall-apart tender by the time they’re done. The meat at Pit Stop was tough, and left a bad after taste. We ended up opting not to eat most of it, unfortunately. The sides were all good - mac & cheese, cornbread, coleslaw all tasty and well-made. Our search for good New England BBQ continues!

I got brisket and pulled pork, while my girlfriend got fried chicken. We also got mac and cheese, baked beans, and corn on the cob.The brisket wasn't that great. The pulled pork was pretty good. My girlfriend liked the chicken. However, my main point of criticism was the BBQ sauce and the sides. The BBQ sauce flavor is alright, but the consistency was not great. Perhaps it's not my style of BBQ, but I thought all of them used thicker bases than that. The mac and cheese was mediocre, and the beans were again, not great. The corn on the cob was overcooked to hell.Perhaps it was just an off night, I'll try it again in the future.
